A new Palm Springs Gem!

Amazing Spanish hotel that has been renovated. The restaurant/bar is great and alongside the pool. The ground and rooms are ... beautiful. The beds and baths are also really comfortable and beautiful. Biggest bang for your buck in the area!

I went to take a shower, and the room smelled like sewage. Called front desk to let them know, and they told me that they ... would let engineering know in the morning. Door to room wasn't sealed properly, and kept making noise at night and in the morning.

One of the best Mexican Restaurants we had been to in quite some time was "Las Casuelas Terraza", in Palm Springs. The food was so tasty and the homemade salsa was excellent! There was always someone filling our salsa bowl without even asking. There is also a great band that plays at night. We had a wonderful dinner, and were so stuffed, we danced for dessert!!!!

Relaxing stay
Maria Jul 4, 2009
The hotel was in a great location and the setting was perfect. The only thing we found slightly annoying was the loud music ... piped out around the pool area. It was nice for a while but after a few hours it was a little too much. On the positive side the beds are so comfortable, the best we've ever slept in!

We were in town for a family wedding. After a busy day of celebrating and dancing all night, we arrived at the hotel tired ... and ready for bed. We loved the comfortable bed, linens, and pillows. The room was very clean and the check in staff was extremely friendly.

It's a nice place
Picky Picky May 26, 2009
My boyfriend and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. It was nice, quaint, very bouquet-y. The staff was friendly, but ... with no sense of urgency, for example our room did not have a hair dryer and we waited 30 minutes for one to come up, it never did. We called again and they acted like we hadn't called prior and brought one up about 15 minutes later. The pool is very small but nice, the bar-drink service at the pool is slow, room service is slow (come on, you are working for tips). The restaurant is overpriced but good, not great good. The staff is very nice, you can tell it's under new management and they are still working out the kinks. Is it a value, definitely yes. Guest room was nice, VERY clean facility, they replenish towels at the pools, etc. Overall it is nice, it's no 5-star/4-diamond resort, but a nice place to stay. I am in the hospitality industry, so I am very particular, maybe even over-picky. But for a weekend getaway at the price, you can't beat it. PS the resort fee is a joke, like hahaha you don't get anything for your $22/Per Person/ Per Day resort fee. (There is complimentary valet parking on Saturday, which is included, but no one uses it and it's a joke).

Quiet, Classy and Close
Spanish Architecture Appreciator May 19, 2009
Within walking distance to town, plenty of parking, easy to get in and out of either by car or on foot, garden-like setting, ... classy architectural details, quiet setting, small bar and restaurant by the pool. Don't bring noisy kids--they ruin the ambiance! I love kids, but not here, please.

Romantic Getaway
dorisday May 17, 2009
The hotel grounds were very unique and clean. It is grommed to have private sitting areas all around the inside courtyard of ... the hotel. There are cabanas, an outside fire place, a water fountian, and comfy outside couches around the pool and hot tub area. We would go exploring in the dessert in the morning and come back in the afternoon to lounge on a raft in the pool for the afternoon. There is always soft relaxing music playing in the back ground that just relaxes you more. The Tram up the mountian is only a few miles away and a great day trip. There is alot to do in this area. I would recomend this hotel for all adults wanting to relax and enjoy the "Palm Springs" area. Not a hotel for kids.

Not For Seniors
robert Mar 2, 2008
It is a two story, recently renovated property. However, there is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up a pretty ... steep flight of stairs to the second floor. There did not appear to be any bellmen nor any offer to help get them to our room. Also, whenever we left the room we were faced with the up and down of this steep flight of stairs. Also lots of uneven pavement and gates to go through. Our room was fairly small with only one chair so it was not comfortable to spend any time in if you were not laying on the bed. My husband asked for a second chair but we were told that a superior room only rates one chair. He was finally offered a folding chair. The hotel location is very good as we like to walk and it is a short walk to the downtown area. We only ate two meals at the hotel restaurant and they were adequate but the service was very slow. Most of the people staying at the hotel appeared to be in their 20s and 30s and they seemed to be having a great time. There is piped in music that plays from morning til night.

picturesque Boutique type hotel in great location

The Colony Palms in Palm Springs is a nicely refurbished 1936 low level Moorish style hotel complex on beautiful grounds with ... a wonderful mountain view within walking distance of downtown Palm Springs shops and restaurants. The rooms are well appointed for singles and couples ready for elegant poolside dining and quiet daytime relaxing. the beds are ab fab! The downside was that the tall fabric headboard and bedside lamps were pretty dusty and the polished cement and shower tile floors did not seem real clean. (ick factor) If they straighten out the maid service problem and get it together in the restaurant kitchen (45 minute wait for the wrong omlette on a quiet Monday morning)I would easily recommend to folks without kids in tow, dogs however, are most welcome.

A Perfect Getaway
Mark Jan 27, 2008
WE live in Los Angeles and travel all over the world. The Colony Palms Hotel is a very plush, super comfortable hotel ... without the ostentatious characteristics of other hotels. You actually feel like you can relax and enjoy the weekend. Did not get to use all of the ammenities, but the in-room options were perfect. The only thing we will do differently next time is get one of the rooms with a tub but the oversized glass shower was nice. The blacony was perfect and the open french doors into the bathroom was a nice touch. Bed COMFORTABLE!
