Charming Hotel
It is a nicely renovated old hotel located in downtown Palm Springs. It has a beautiful courtyard with a swimming pool and an outdoor fireplace. The room was nice and the bedding was great. My wife is considering tracing down the vendor. Free parking is available around the hotel. The staff has been very helpful during our stay. The hotel has a character that is just not there in large chain hotels. The restaurant is pricey, but it overlooks the courtyard.

3 days in paradise
I went for a much-needed rest & the Palms provided everything I needed: a very comfortable room, quiet, discreet staff, idyllic gardens, wonderful pool & jacuzzi. As an early riser, I particularly appreciated the 7 am coffee & newspaper , which I enjoyed while gazing at the spectacular mountains. The hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown & of a couple of exceptional restaurants: Cheeky's for breakfast, Birba for dinner. No pool toys allowed, & no boisterous guests! Wonderful!

Colony Palms Hotel
The room was on the small side (compared to what you normally get in Palm Springs) but I was lured by the Spanish/Moroccan motif advertisement on the websight. The pool area looked beautiful but the pool was not as big as I expected, and because of all the plants and flowers around the pool, be prepared for a lot of bugs, flies on your skin while you lay out. I would give it a B- if I were to give it a grade.

Not a $300 a Night Hotel
I would pay no more than $120 a night for this hotel. The grounds were clean and very well maintained and the pool/restraunt area was nice The room was clean, but it was small and old and some of the fixtures did not work properly (i.e. the lights and switches were not working properly, the shower head was not working properly, & the toilet seat wouldn't stay up) and why would one need a down comforter in Palm Springs? Plus our room was right on a busy street and there was pronounced traffic noise all night. It was a nice hotel, but nothing spectacular, and definately not a resort that I would pay $300 plus a night for a room. I personally would not recommend this hotel at the prices they were charging.

Perfect Getaway from May gray!
My Partner and I needed a reprieve from San Diego's "May gray" and decided on Palm Springs. Here are some reasons why I recommend Colony Palms. 1. Location - Downtown by shops/restaurants. 2. Landscape - Arranged for privacy. 3. Guests - Mature, professional, quiet (not recommended to bring children unless they are furry, can be crated, and walk on all fours. 4. Room Decor - Simple, progressive, clean. 6. Staff - Friendly, accommodating. 7. Cost - Pricey but worth every penny. 8. Parking - Free Valet, until 10pm but no problem finding parking otherwise. This is our new getaway!!

Colony Palms 4-2011
This was our 2ed trip to Colony Palms after falling in love with the hotel last year. The location is perfect for walking to downtown and not having to worry about driving or finding a place to park. The pool with all of the private areas is special as well as the spa and firepit. [...] We will be returning hopefully after Thanksgiving.
