Not worth it

Reminds me of a up scale condo complex. No hotel vibe whatsoever. Sterile. Staff was nice but for $350+ a night you would expect bend over backwards attentiveness. Rooms are nice with kitchen but again, poorly laid out and a "luxury room" was boxey. 4pm check in occured at 4pm, and 10am check out was rough. 18 hour day at this place. Golf looked amazing, didn't get to play however.

Fun family trip with 2 young kids

We stayed for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom villa which was perfect. It was a short walk away from the pool and restaurant but given the heat of day we usually requested a golf cart shuttle to/from our room was was usually ready within 5-10 minutes. Overall the resort was not as busy as I thought it would be which was nice. The pool area is great with the waterslide and other activities for the kids. Food at the restaurant was slightly above average but not extraordinary. Only complaint we had was during day one of the 2 days we were their, there was construction in room above us where they were replacing the carpet and this happened during time our 1 year old daughter was napping. My wife complained. In the end they gave us $50 credit at the on site restaurant which I that was pretty fair. I would for sure consider going back to this resort!

NICE

We were surprised to be charged a $15 daily parking fee by the hotel - in addition to what we had already paid.

Great resort and villas

Resort offered many amenities such as a pool, tennis courts and club house but unfortunately we were not able to use since our short stay kept us away most of the time. But our villa was quiet, clean, comfortable and very spacious and we would love to go back when we could spend more time.

Enjoyed the Cork Tree - right around the corner from the Westin. Also Morgans at the La Quinta CC was fantastic.

Westin Willow Desert

The hotel was fine. However, on check out we were charge a $15 per day parking fee, which wasn't made clear by [...] the Westin. I did complain to the desk and they did reverse the charges. It seems rather odd to be charging a $15 fee for parking in a city that doesn't charge a dime anywhere.

Great place with hidden parking fee

The suite was great - kitchenette was well stocked. Really nothing bad to say about the place. The fly in the ointment was the $15 a day parking FEE. Parking spaces were plentiful, so don't know why Westin feels compelled to charge for it. It's not like I have a choice. This fee was a complete surprise that was sprung on me at check-in time. In the future, I will stay elsewhere. Elsewhere in the survey it asks would I recommend this place to a friend. I am checking YES, but will toss in the parking caveat.

Great experience!

Everything was great! I upgraded the room to premium, which was everything you could want in a room. It's like having a your own little apartment away from home. The only thing I didn't care for is the early check out time without the possibility of budging an hour. I felt rushed out, and have never experienced that at any resort I have ever been to. To end on a good note, almost all staff were very friendly and inviting.

Review of Westin Desert Willow

I was in Palm Desert, CA, at a sorority conference and decided to stay at the Westin. The hotel staff was so nice and amenable to whatever I needed. The villas were just gorgeous; it was as if I had my own apartment and each room was fully furnished with things I needed, from the kitchen, washer-dryer combination, barbeque utensils (yes, I bar-be-qued while there) to the patio. I had a wonderful hotel experience from begining to end. Just a note: there was a $15 a day charge to park on the premises. Other than that, very nice!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Most of the eateries on Cook Drive or Highway 111 are about a 5-10 drive. The hotel does have a restaurant and happy hour.
