Very Disappointed With Shadow Mountain

I'll start with the only positive. We were there to swim by the pool and the pool is nice. There are also 3 other smaller ones but we didn't check them out. There are so many negative things to say about this hotel stay. I'll just name a few big ones. The communication between the staff and guests is non-existent. It took us a day to figure out the rafts belonged to the property and were first come, first served. We thought they belonged to the guests. Also, it took us two days to figure out you could get pool towels from the lobby. Of course, we could have gone to the lobby and asked, but we should have been given the lay of the land when we checked in. The room: * was not as nice as the pictures. It wasn't horrible looking but completely lacked the nice touches that make you feel like you're on vacation. * The bedspread was clearly stained with huge stains on the top. They did change it out and they were nice about it. * Every now and then the room would reek of diarrhea. * The walls are thin and we were woke up every morning at 7 by the people walking above us. * The cable didn't work on our first night and when I called the front desk she said, "oh, really? that's weird." Hmmm. She couldn't offer us any help until the morning and I was glad we brought our laptop computer. I could nitpick so much more but I think you get the idea. Next time I will spend a bit more and stay at the Marriott Shadow Ridge or The Saguaro Palm Springs. This is definitely an example of "you get what you pay for".

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a nice little downtown area on El Paseo a short walk or nice little bike ride from the hotel. There are nice restaurants like Wolfgang Puck, Mastro's, California Pizza Kitchen, Tommy Bahamas, etc. But the stores, including the Gardens shopping mall, close at 5pm.

decent hotel with fair procing

Rooms are ok, If you are a tennis player there is always a court available and if you are not you will be bored to death , yet l the hotel is located in the city of Palm Desert, close to giant shopping malls , movies, ect...

Amazing oasis

My friends and I, 7 in total stayed there over the weekend to attend Coachella. We had a two bedroom apartment. The location of our unit was perfect. Just outside our patio was a small pool and jacuzzi. This was aside from the main pool/bar area so it allowed for extra privacy. There is a variety of shops and food around. I will definitely make this our yearly coachella stay place.

A pass on this one

It seemed that the rental of rooms at this older resort was an after thought. I would not return to this location. Room was noisy-pipes in wall making noise-refridgerator sounded like a car was idling in the room. Very basic comfort.

Very nice.

I was looking for peace and quiet and found it here. The hotel is very private. Beautiful pool, nice little cafe, great staff. Great opportunity for tennis and golf, swimming and shopping just a few blocks away. We enjoyed ourselves, the quiet and plan to go back.

Delightful and restful getaway!

The Resort is in a great location...quiet but within a very short driving distance to El Paseo with fantastic shopping and delightful restaurants. Our room was creatively decorated and we had everything we needed for cooking (when we wanted it) and our creature comforts. This was a huge improvement over the hotel chains where we've stayed before.
