Very nice beachfront property, great staff.

The only thing it lacks is a pool, but the ocean is right there. There is a hot tub that is plenty hot. they also have bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs, and even baskets full of beach toys available to check out at no additional cost. They have plenty of all these items, we checked out bikes and boogie boards and never had to wait. The dispensers of fruit flavored ice water were refreshing. Our room (a 1 bedroom) was clean and the small kitchen was sufficient for out needs. We had a patio that looked out on the beach, it was great. It is walking distance to the public fishing pier and they rent poles out there for $5.00. Our 8 yo boy caught a bunch of small fish out there. He threw them all back though because they are are the main diet of the baby dolphins. When we arrived there was no room available because someone had not checked out and they could not find the people. They had to move us to another resort that was just as nice for one night. We had morning plans the next day so it was a pretty inconvenient, having to check out the next morning. The manger, Keisha, was very understanding and even though it was impossible for her to get us a room at her resort that night, she went above and beyond in making it up to us for the difficulty. We would most definetly go there again! Thank you Keisha for helping us make it a fantastic trip. Oh and sorry about your curb, lol

I absolutely loved this place

We enjoyed this mini-vacation so much. The staff was nice enough to grant our request for an oceanview room since my husband was recovering from surgery and would be spending a lot of time there. Staff member Jeremy specifically requested the end unit with a large wraparound balcony for us. Such nice people. The hotel sits literally 40 yards or so from the water. The room was beautiful and clean and completely stocked with anything you might need. So comfortable and serene. I plan to go back again. I was pleasantly surprised to find Oceanside is fairly quiet compared to other beach communities, the beach is clean, the pier is lovely, and just a block or so from the hotel are many nice places to eat, movie theater, just all around very nice, everything in walking distance. The hotel even loans out beach bikes, boogie boards, chairs, beach toys. Nice jacuzzi on top with ocean view. Beautiful!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Longboarder Cafe is perfect, affordable, with many healthy options, not to mention delicious food. We ate there twice.

Awesome!

My friends and I loved the rooms, location, and activities free for us to use. We rode bikes provided by the resort, used their beach chairs on the beach, and painted a wonderful watercolor painting in a class with a view of the ocean.

Good Location and Comfort

Overall our stay was good. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The only real problem was the check in process. We arrived around 8:30pm to find the front door locked. There was no bell to ring and knocking on the door yielded no results. Eventually another guest came into the lobby and let us in. Once we got into the lobby there were no staff to be found. After waiting close to half an hour an employee showed up. The staff member that did show up did not know how to check us in. They ended up having to call someone on the phone so that they could help them get us checked in. From the time that we arrived to getting to our room took right around an hour and a half. I was informed the next day that she was new so I mostly just feel bad for the poor staff member that was visibly frustrated by operating a position that they did not know how to do. The response from the staff the next day left much to be desired as well. There was no apology for the issues just a curt "they are new". While I enjoyed this hotel I do not think that I will come back unless there is a major upgrade in the management and staff.

Right on the beach

Let me just start off by saying that the only negative thing I can even find about this place is the parking. This is not your 5-star resort type hotel. This is a relaxing get-away type hotel. The room was very nice and has a very beachy vibe to it. Open the slider and you have the sounds of the waves ad your only background noise. The hotel is literally located right on the beach. That's a huge plus. Inside the room is setup with a fullly equipped kitchen and fully furnished. Very comfortable bed too! The room was very clean. Free wifi. Flat screen TVs with cable. It has a very relaxed feel to it. Vending machines are conveniently located ad well. There is a spa on the roof as well. There is room service but we didn't use it. Plenty of places in walking distance. If you're looking for a decent priced get away on the beach and don't require the gold chandelier and marble floor and a bell hop to carry your luggage then I highly recommend this place!

Needs improvement

The place was right on the beach and nice and clean. However, the second day we were there, housekeeping knocked on the door and immediately opened it, even though I had the do not disturb sign up. I was not happy about that. Then a couple nights later the staff called our room at 2:00 in the morning to tell us our car's flashers were on in the garage. The car had been gone since 8:00 that night and was not even there. When I complained the next day the lady I complained to said they probably wanted to save our battery. When I told her the car wasn't even there, she offered no apologies. That was very rude. I would choose another place if I returned.

The Best Beach Location

This was a last minute find for our family. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. All you need to bring are cloths and food if you're going to use the kitchen. They have boogie boards, towels, chairs and beach cruisers. We had a blast ride the beach cruisers up and down the beach, it was awesome. We will definitely visit again.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

We didn't find very many grocery stores in the area. Ralph's and Boney's are on Ocean Blvd just past the I-5 freeway. Boney's is like a Trader Joes/Henry's.

Great location for immediate beach acces

If you want a place right on the beach, this is a great place. 1-BR suite was plenty large, but I didn't like the fact that housekeeping only provides towels and doesn't clean the suite on a daily basis unless you buy the "full service" package. For nearly $200/night, I expect more than that. Also, the decor is very dated. Other than that, the room was very clean (when we checked in!) and walking out of your room, down the stairs and onto the beach is pretty hard to beat!

Wonderful stay

We stayed here on a recent trip to Legoland. The hotel was only about 10-12 minutes to the Legoland gate, and it is by far my favorite hotel we have stayed in during our Carlsbad/Oceanside vacations. You literally walk out of the hotel right onto the beach. Legoland has short hours, so it was nice to stay near the beach so my son could play in the water during the morning and in the park (right on the beach) in the evening. We had a one bedroom condo, which fitted 3 adults and one child perfectly. We will definitely be staying here again.
