The man that runs the hotel was really nice. The hotel pictures and other reviews were very deceiving. The pillows on the bed were washed, but covered in hair. Very noticeable also. The housekeeping had to have seen it. The tile floors were dirty , the comforter, and the shower water never drained when showering. If you like things clean and comfortable this is not the place for you.

Tough love

The room was clean, the appliances need an update with regards to the coffee maker, television and a lack of power outlets. Do not get the room next to the staff laundry, the washer is constantly operating into the evening so it will drive you crazy. If you are gone most of the day, no problem. The one problem that will not go away is the interstate 5 noise. It would help if they could put up some type of barrier to block the noise. Staff was polite and helpful. If you are dead tired, you'll be okay and not much of a breakfast. Good luck

No Working AC?

I Didnt Expect This Hotel To Be Fabulous From The Beginning. When Me & My Gf Walk In It Smells Like Smoke, The Bathroom Just Seemed Dirty, We Tried Turning The AC On & Wasnt Working. So I Played Around With It, Plugging It In & Out, i Finally Leave It Alone 15 Mins Later It Turns On. So That Was Good I Guess. Its Right Across The Street From Freeway So Expect It To Be Really Loud At Night. Kids Were Running Up & Down The Outside Hall Being Loud & Trying To Open Our Door Around 11 Pm. Where The Parents Were Dont Ask!

Was a pleasant stay

I arrived here after a brief hospitalization and trying to find a permanent home - it took longer than I thought to find a place so ended up here for 10 weeks. They were in the middle of upgrading the rooms and they asked if they could move me after 3 days - I agreed only to find out the room I was moved to was about $50 more per week. As I was still trying to recover and not up for moving AGAIN and due to availability - I was in that room for 5 weeks (I didn't ask for the move OR upgrade)they finally moved me to a less expensive room-they did negotiate and adjust rates at times and even waited until late one night to get my money which helped me! The coffee is strong the OJ is cheap -the apple juice is name brand and the Danish are Svenhards (which are quite pricey) so a decent free breakfast. Parking gets tight on weekends - the rooms are clean -full range of basic cable -all in all its not the Marriott nor does it cost like the Marriott!! They allow pets for a decent non refundable cost. I would stay here again and would recommend to a friend.

TOO NOISY...NEXT TO THE 5

FIRST ROOM WAS VERY NOIST, BUT THEN I WAS SWITCHED TO A CORNER ROOM, AND IT WAS MUCH BETTER. IT WAS A CLOSE WALK TO THE HARBOUR AND BEACH, AND ALL THINGS/STORES NEEDED WERE CLOSE. STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL ALSO. MANY RENOVATIONS WERE BEING DONE, ALSO.

Recommended

My husband is in training at Camp Pendleton, Del mar. The hotel was the cheapest and closest to the base. The hotel does offer military discounts if you call them directly. But The hotel was Decent enough to stay in. The bed was comfy and the room was much bigger than most of the other hotels I have stayed at. Employees were nice and let me check in early. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Hotel needs re-modeled!

Very small living room, not very inviting. Very noisy due to door allowing noise to enter. Extremely small bedroom (maybe 8" x 10') with one full bed and one night stand. Old style a/c that is installed in living room wall, not a/c in bedroom...
