Waterfront Fun
It is our family tradition for me and my wife to take our kids to Monster Jam at the Oakland Coliseum each year when it comes around. By far this hotel is the best one we have stayed at in the Oakland area, the rooms are nice and it is in an ideal location. The Continental breakfast and coffee bar are a great way to kick off the day. We won't hesitate to stay here again.

Great place for food and drink is Kincaid's, and an interesting little bar is Heinold's Last First Chance just down from Kincaid's

Nicely done
The hotel and my room were clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The desk could have been more accommodating by providing more space and more accessible power supply. The breakfast was tasty, situated next to a pool with a view of the harbor.

Solid, But Not Great
The hospitality of the staff leaves a lot to be desired (if you're interested, I left a detailed review at T. Advisor), but the hotel itself is clean, nicely updated, and good. As it's a Joie de Vivre property, the staff is not even close to what I'd normally expect. The area is still early in its redevelopment, so the energy feels very far from the action, almost abandoned, even though there are clubs and restaurants nearby. Note that valet parking (20 dollars at the time of my visit) is the only option besides street parking, which is Bay Area-complicated.

Walking distance to Amtrak!
Stopped over between Amtrak and flight home. Was great to be able to print boarding pass in lobby. Coffee machine was out of water--but nice to have hot drinks. Room was very nice, balcony view of river and ships was great.

"The Waterfront was Wonderful"
The service was great, even the valet personnel were helpful. The room was beautiful, even the towels were soft, not hard like everywhere else. The goose down comforter was so nice...the only thing it didnt have was a microwave and fridge...but everything else was perfect:):) I will definitely be coming back Waterfront:):)

Short walk from hotel
Leave your car at the hotel, for $20 bucks? You are going to spend that much anyways on parking...and you can get anywhere on the trolleys, BART. If your going to San Francisco.

great hotel but very loud
The hotel it self was great, all the staff was very helpful. If you are trying to relax and sleep this is not the best place. It is right next to a rail road so there was a bunch of trains going all night. Then there is the ships from the port moving crates that were making a bunch of noise. People unloading a truck at 6am. To top it off they have this great big LCD tv that if you do not point the remote in the right spot you cant change the channel.

Not much to do in the local area. Hotel was fairly bare bones. Beats Motel 6. Maybe a Motel 7 ? Lots of cab fares paid to get into the real of "O Town" !!!
