Good for the price
Stayed 2 nights. Close to the airport with nearby gas stations, shopping center with basic shops and large, discount store. Convenient and cheap if renting a car - easy freeway access and about 5-7 minutes by car to downtown Oakland. Rooms are average and had basic amenities, except microwave/refrigerator, but had free wireless and iron/ironing board. Minimal toiletries, but basics available and can be requested from lobby. Free breakfast consists of toast, pastries, orange juice, coffee, and cereal/milk. Staff was friendly. A bit dim on the inside of the main building, but most things were clean, but does have an "old" feeling to atmosphere.

Local prison
The building looks like a low security prison. As all I needed a room to sleep that was close to the airport it met the need. If I was to spend time around the hotel this would not be a consideration.

Gossipy Front Desk Clerk
The morning clerk used profanities repeatedly and loudly while gossiping with a coworker. Guests could hear her potty mouth all the way next door in the restaurant. However, rooms were clean and shuttle was on time.

Best part was the staff. The evening and morning staff were both very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for transiting to or from the Oakland Airport

Great Hotel for Specialty Business Trip
I made a recent trip to the Bay Area to exhibit large art works at the Ceramics Annual of America show in the Ft. Mason Center, San Francisco, October 2011. This involved driving large moving trucks over 500 miles, and coordinating cars and people throughout the area for a week. The Days Inn at the Hegenberger exit near the Oakland airport was perfect for this trip. It had easy access to the freeway and had lots of parking, even for 16-ft trucks and additional cars. There were always parking spaces available at any time of day or night.. There was good security and we always felt safe and never had any problems. Alameda was only a short drive away. There was easy access to the Bay Bridge. with nearby stores (Walmart, fast food places, Starbuck's, etc.) for last-minute supplies and food, and an inexpensive bar and Chinese restaurant with free room service adjacent to the hotel when we got back late and were too tired to eat out.. Staff provided anything we needed at any time and were always very friendly and courteous. Other guests staying there were also pleasant. We were on one of the higher floors and heard no noise. The staff made us feel very welcome. Room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and large enough to accommodate overflow material from the show. Rates were also very reasonable, and we were able to change the type of room at the last minute when another person decided to travel with us. A pool, exercise room, and laundry facilities were also available. Continental breakfast is about what you'd expect (toast, pastries, waffles, coffee, tea, juice, no preotein) but is handy when you have to leave in a hurry. There are plenty of other dining alternatives in the area if you have the time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It is a little worn around the edges because of heavy traffic, like big parties of Asian tourists, but the clean and comfortable rooms and the great service make up for any minor shortcomings. It's not the Hilton, it's basic, but I was amazed at how good it turned out to be and how pleasant our stay was. I traveled to San Francisco last year for a similar trip, which was very stressful (lack of parking, had hotel,etc.). Staying at the Days Inn removed a lot of the stress and gave me more time for some fun. I gave it four stars out of five just because it is NOT a luxury hotel and you shouldn't expect that, although it suited my needs perfectly.

Get recommendations from friends for good little neighborhood Chinese restaurants in Oakland and avoid the expense, traffic, and lack of parking in San Francisco. Go early to larger places like Legendary Palace (dim sum, lunch, dinner) in Oakland's Chinatown to get parking.

okay
THIS WAS PERFECT TO GO TO THE GAME, WE STAYED THERE JUST TO SLEEP. BREAKFAST IS NOT WHAT THEY SAID IT WAS, NO WAFFLES OR EGGS, JUST CEREAL. RESTRAUNT ATTACHED ONLY MAKES CHINESE. BEDS WERE ROCK HARD. I REQUESTED NON-SMOKING, BUT THEY ONLY HAD SMOKING. GOOD TO JUST SLEEP THATS IT
