We were participating in a retreat at IONS, which is just up the road from the hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel manager went out of his way to make sure that our stay was perfect.
The hotel was fine; let's make that clear up front. It's just quite old. To illustrate the age, there's a phone jack with an "internet" sticker on the wall between the beds ;-) Yes they have wifi but it was quite unreliable. It'd jump from snappy
to nearly nonexistent. I reverted to LTE several times.
Bed was comfortable enough. Room was clean, again just felt old and worn. I didn't swim in the pool, but it was very nice to sit by the pool and enjoy a drink at the end of a hot day. So that's nice.
This is a very expensive neighborhood, and this was by far the most affordable hotel without reverting to something really shoddy.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Historic downtown Novato is just a few minutes away, and full of lovely restaurants and shops.
We needed somewhere inexpensive for a quick overnight in northern Marin Co., and Days Inn fit the bill. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't use any other amenities. Note that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere in Novato, not near
shopping or restaurants, and certainly nowhere near San Francisco notwithstanding the "Novato/San Francisco" reference in the hotel name.
Door jam visually ajar. Light permiated through door jam upon securing and locking door. Bathroom walls unclean and wallpaper needs repair and updating. Patio door lock lose , no screen to enjoy the fresh air and missing privacy sheath curtain and
otherwise all else okay.
Fantasic location near SF, Sonoma, Napa, and Pt Reyes
Stayed here with my parents while attending a familiy event. The place is older and out dated, but it's a clean room with a clean bed, functional AC unit, and all the basics wrapped in a good location.
At the price point and the region, this is
the best choice you can make (at least with availability the weekend we stayed).
