Great value given the area, but one old hotel

The hotel was fine; let's make that clear up front. It's just quite old. To illustrate the age, there's a phone jack with an "internet" sticker on the wall between the beds ;-) Yes they have wifi but it was quite unreliable. It'd jump from snappy to nearly nonexistent. I reverted to LTE several times. Bed was comfortable enough. Room was clean, again just felt old and worn. I didn't swim in the pool, but it was very nice to sit by the pool and enjoy a drink at the end of a hot day. So that's nice. This is a very expensive neighborhood, and this was by far the most affordable hotel without reverting to something really shoddy.

Adequate for our needs

We needed somewhere inexpensive for a quick overnight in northern Marin Co., and Days Inn fit the bill. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't use any other amenities. Note that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere in Novato, not near shopping or restaurants, and certainly nowhere near San Francisco notwithstanding the "Novato/San Francisco" reference in the hotel name.

Pricey considering the quality

Door jam visually ajar. Light permiated through door jam upon securing and locking door. Bathroom walls unclean and wallpaper needs repair and updating. Patio door lock lose , no screen to enjoy the fresh air and missing privacy sheath curtain and otherwise all else okay.

Fantasic location near SF, Sonoma, Napa, and Pt Reyes

Stayed here with my parents while attending a familiy event. The place is older and out dated, but it's a clean room with a clean bed, functional AC unit, and all the basics wrapped in a good location. At the price point and the region, this is the best choice you can make (at least with availability the weekend we stayed).

Not too bad.....

Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful, Chinese food restaurant onsite (good, reasonably priced but not amazing in that I wouldn't make a special trip to go there), rooms clean (feet stayed clean while walking across carpet), best price for the time needed, free wifi, free breakfast, parking plentiful, relatively quiet even though they were sold out, you couldn't tell. Cons: There is absolutely nothing within a mile or so of this hotel, my room was on the end and therefore the stairs were on the side of the building (security?), wifi didn't have a password (again, security?), breakfast was basic juice, coffee, toast and cereal, while I slept okay the walls were thin (two days in a row I heard a woman in the room next to me sneeze), woke up to a bulldozer working next to the parking lot at 11:45 p.m., Avg of $90 per night seemed a little high for a Days Inn, there is a sliding glass door and balcony on the other side of the room but it was a community balcony (you couldn't leave the drapes open unless you wanted to risk someone peeking in) therefore no natural light, the smoke detector cap was taped on, the "flat screen" tv is really just a technicality, it was still a big tube tv that just happened to have a flat screen. To summarize I would call the Days Inn functional. I would go back if necessary but I found out a higher end local hotel gave a gov't discount (for the same price as this hotel) for the next time I'm up there so I booked with them.

Nice Touches

Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable. I appreciate the efforts to be "green" -- they don't replace sheets or towels unless you ask and, the lighting is all compact fluorescent. They've replaced the typical scratchy two-star hotel blanket with a soft cotton comforter.

NASCAR weekend

Clean, comfortable, easy access location. A little pricey for location but that's to be expected because all local hotels raise prices for this weekend.

Great Place!

The Staff was very friendly. The grounds are pretty by the pool area. There is a jucuzzi too so don't forget your suit. The room was large, king bed great.Liked that you could open the sliding door and step out onto the balcony. The Manderian resturant there is delish! We enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to this area we would definitely stay here again. Awesome for the price!
