Birthday celebration

This hotel was fantastic! My family Was in from NY and we decided to spend the night for my birthday! It was perfect, the staff was amazing, the location was perfect for sunset drinks, and the restaurants had quality food. They accommodated all ages from 79-30, but the best part was how wonderful they were with my dog!! There even was a gift bag with everything he would need. Wonderful experience!

Balboa

The location is great! They need to vacuum under the beds, hasn't been done in a while. Staff is very friendly and helpful for the most part. One thing that was annoying was having to pay a service fee for every day I was there. This needs to be included in what I paid the third party company. I planned my budget ahead of time and this threw me off.

Weekend getaway

We had a lovely experience at the resort. The atmosphere is casual and not pretentious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms, pool, and lobby were well maintained. I was there for a wedding and had my hair done in the salon. What a great hairdresser she worked with me until I was happy! Highly recommend Balboa Bay resort!

Stereotype much?

Upon checking into this lovely establishment, my spouse and I, both doctors, were approached by an elderly woman who asked, "Are you to guests of the hotel?" I'm sure it had nothing to do with my tattoos, as she simply walked off once we convinced her that we were. Wow! Talk about an awkward profiling moment. Thankfully the view from our room was amazing, so the bitter old lady became a passing thought.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Go to the Newport Landing for brunch!!! Solid buffet with $5 bottomless mimosas!!! These guys did warn they would cut you off if you appeared intoxicated, the servers worked the room constantly, ensuring no guests drinks were less than half full! 5stars

The guy at the front desk hooked it up

Excellent customer service! We got a good deal for this hotel 25% off and they still treated us amazing. The young gentleman at the front hooked us up with a water view room with no extra cost and took off our resort fee. The pool was awesome and the room quiet and clean. Can't wait to go back!
