Incredible resort

This is one of the most beautiful and comfortable resorts we've ever been to. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The resort also has a wine/spa cave behind it (with surprisingly good wine!) The only thing that wasn't perfect was the location. It's in the southern part of Napa in the middle of a corporate area. That doesn't really matter, though, since you are still so close to all of the wineries and the resort itself is so self-contained. On any future trips we take to the Napa area, we'll definitely stay there again.

Great Room. Bring Your Backpack.

I drove into Vina Bello and registered. All good. I then went to grab a parking spot. There is not enough parking! We had to park a fair ways away on the street and walk to our room. The room, although adverised as having wireless internet had NO internet. I was prepared to start getting cranky. But then I got inside the room. Absolutely beautiful. Plenty of special touches - coffee, wine, bottled water. Incredible bathroom and kitchen. Also a little out of town, so not walkable to anything.

Fantastic service, beautiful set-up

I was very impressed with the service right from the start. They will provide a bottle of wine complementary when you arrive in the room. While the wine itself is not the best (a Rose) it is definitely drinkable and the thought that counts especially since it is from their own label. We forgot a bottle opener but had one in minutes by calling down to the front desk, they then called us back a few minutes after that to ensure we got the opener. They also keep the refrigerator stocked with water and soda. They have a very nice vineyard on site that you can walk through but keep in mind they are not currently using those grapes in their wine making. The restaurant, Siena, is fabulous with a great rustic atmosphere and savory food. I recommend the mussels and pork tenderloin on polenta. I felt the location was ideal in that you are a short drive from Route 29, the main highway that connects Napa to points north i.e. St. Helena, Rutheford, Castiloga. You are about a 5 minute drive from downtown Napa and 15-20 minutes from the heart of Napa Valley/Vineyard. Keep in mind that you are situated in a business park but once on the actual resort you don't really notice. It is a resort feel with two entities- the Vino Bello (which we stayed at, is a time-share but we felt the Vino Bello had the better rooms...you do get a brief advert for the time share but you can just decline) and the Meritage. They do provide shuttle service into downtown Napa. Also there are two types of rooms that you can get at the Vino Bello, a studio and a 1 bedroom. We chose the studio as we didn't think we needed the extra room and it was cheaper. There was plenty of room in our studio which comes with a balcony (ours overlooked the pool), couch and table, full kitchen minus a stove and oven, washer and dryer with a decent sized bathroom. I think the 1 bedrooms have a full kitchen and larger bathrooms. The pools are nice and the one at the Vino Bello is outfitted with grills, hot tub ect. I would say that the draw back of the Vino Bello being a time share is that there was a large group using the time share for a wedding while we were there and they hogged the pool area for most of it but we did get some good time in at the hot tub. I highly recommend going into their wine cave onsite which has wine tasting and spa services. All in all a great experience with excellent amenities. I do see people rating the location as a downside but we didn't think so.

Napa Vacation

We spend most of our time visiting wineries and sight-seeing. Last year we stayed at the River Terrace. For us, the River Terrace was better than the Vino Bello, primarily for two reasons: (1) location, (2) the complementary breakfast. Vino Bello is a little difficult to find. We would stay there again, but would prefer River Terrace.

Vino Bello Resort! Great Place to Stay!

This was our second time to stay at this resort and we had a great time! The Jr. Suite we stayed in was great. It included a washer and dryer that came in handy along with a microwave and refrigerator. The bath was also a large soaking tub which we both like. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and visiting with a few of the guests that were there in the evening. Staff was very polite and were helpful with all our needs. The location is a little bit hard to find if you have never been there but once you figure it out it is fine. The hotel is also close to the town of St. Helena which my wife and I love to visit. This is a great place to stay and has always been a very pleasant experience for us!

Must go to the Sterling Winery and take the gondolas up to the winery for a great self-paced tour and wine tasting.

Pictures are a bit deceiving

The Vino Bello was pretty pricey compared with other hotels in the Napa Valley area. The rooms were nice, but certainly not worth the extra expense. It's a great location if you're spending your time in Sonoma---a bit of a drive to Napa. Staff was very friendly; rooms were very clean; fireplace in lobby was very welcoming.
