The staff at the Chablis Inn were very friendly and helpful in picking some 'starter' wineries to tour. The inn itself is conveniently located right off of Highway 29 (along which are pretty much all of the wineries in Napa), and it takes just a quick drive to reach downtown Napa. Despite its proximity to the highway the location itself was very quiet- no problem sleeping at night. The room was very clean throughout and had a nice 'bar' (sink and coffee maker). I didn't check out the pool, but other patrons were enjoying it despite the late October chill. Overall, Chablis Inn was a delightful experience for the cost- definitely worth it!

Chablis Inn - FAIL on the Napa experience
Our immediate impression of this place as we drove up was "Looks like a worked over Motel 6", and every step of the way was further confirmed. At check in the guy @ the desk was minimally helpful (didn't even mention they had coupons for local wineries...wife found those in a random basket in the lobby). The room was very clean, but the bed was hard as concrete, the towels were stiff like they'd dried for days on an outside clothesline. The air conditioner was nearly as loud as sitting next to a running tractor trailer, and the road noise (from both the 29 freeway & Solano Ave. was loud all night long....between the hard bed & the road noise we barely slept our entire stay. Had we paid 1/3 of the price we did, perhaps all those things wouldn't have stung so much. In the end, though, the Chablis Inn was the disappointing dent in our otherwise extraordinary Napa trip.

nearly every winery has coupons for free tastings, so look them up...ask around.....don't pay the high tasting prices!!!

I was in the area to attend a wedding and was pleased with the easy access to the freeway as I came and went for wedding events. It was also very close to shopping and other amenities in the area. The hotel itself was quiet, clean and attractive - just what I was looking for.

Start Off A Trip To Napa In a Wine-Named Inn!
Other reviews for the Chablis Inn were a bit unfair, I would say, after my stay over Labor Day weekend. The hotel is right off the Napa Highway and very easy to get to. Although it's outside of downtown Napa (about a 5 minute drive away), it is super conveniently located for tasting and touring all over the Valley, while providing a nice reprise at the end of the day away from Napa, tons of tourists, and the hiked up prices you will find throughout Napa and Sonoma. Staff were very friendly and more than willing to talk about things to do, places to see, spas to visit, etc. They also have coupons for discount and free tastings, as well as tons of maps and magazine options about tasting and touring in the Valley. The hotel is very cute and had a charming pool and hot tub set among flowers and with nice lounge chairs to relax in. The hotel does not have free breakfast. *HOWEVER*, right across the street is a foodie's Mecca: VALLERGAS, a local produce, fruit, wine, cheese, meat, baked goods, etc, etc, etc supermarket. Think of Whole Foods meets Trader Joe's: huge, clean, not too expensive, tons of amazing options, staff who know their stuff, and great eats. We got olives, fruit, cheese, hot coffee, a baguette, and some cured meat and had a picnic breakfast among the roses right out front of the store where there are nice tables. We had a great stay!

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
"Carpe Diem" wine bar is one of the best and most reasonably priced spots to eat out in downtown Napa. Owner, Steve, was awesome and talked with us for a long while about tasting and eating throughout Napa. We had champagne, a cheese board, burrata, and Nutella creme brulee, which were all wonderful. This wine bar is big on local produce, so it's a must-check-out, especially in the midst of all of the other restaurants you won't be able to get out of for less than $150 for two people. Bon appetit!

Convenience and well located
Its a good place to stay after a long day testing good wine in NAPA. Just 1 minute from the only NAPA Highway, and across a really nice Supermarket and a Coffee Shop, so we were able to get breakfast and food at the same time. No WIFI, but a PC is available at the office.. Has a jacuzzi and a small pool, but we didn't have the time to enjoy them.

Clean and easy, but nothing fancy...
Pros: Rooms were very clean, has pool and hot tub, decent location in Napa, allows pets for a small fee. Cons: Still has old school A/C and TV units, none of the blinds worked, pool was small, kind of loud at night unless you leave the A/C running as white noise, pets are required to be crated when left alone in your room (which I've never experienced before and completely changed our plans).

Shopping tip:
