Bel Abri - A French Country Inn

We used this hotel to jump off for wine tours, city tour of Napa and Sonoma, St. Helena. It was convenient to town and freeway. Though somewhat noisy (our room was on the traffic side), it was clean and very sweet. We had a nice soaking tub and fireplace, little outside courtyard (very private), and wonderful breakfast plus wine and cheese in the evening. Only thing I would improve is the bed qualtiy. They need to update the mattresses - ours was soft and depressed. Lovely people at the desk. Bring your own wine shipping boxes; they do not have them, but we found some at a close shipping point.

Enjoyable stay, hotel staff very accommodating assisting with dinner suggestions and reservations. Concierge even gave us coupons for free wine tastings at several wineries. Breakfasts were wonderful and delicious. Only disappointment was we thought we had a room with a jacuzzi, but it was a one person soaker tub. The inn only has 2 rooms with jacuzzis and both were occupied. Not all rooms have fireplaces either. Check with staff before booking room if these are an important part of your stay.

Easy checkin and great breakfast. Missed the wine hour as we were nor informed of it when we checked in. Great location.

This place was not what you'd expect from the exterior. Looks kind of like a Best Western outside. Inside you are pleasantly surprised with above average rooms. Lots of extras too. The Inn has a luxury feel to it once you're in your room. Beautifully decorated with a gas fireplace in the living area. Nice dressing area with comfy white terry robes. Fridge, coffee maker, snacks iron and ironing board. Granite shower area & bath has upscale products and was pristine. Lots of towels and pillows and an extra down comforter- but you'd never need it with the fireplace. The windows actually open if you get too warm. Very impressed. You'll leave feeling like you got a great deal!

Our first time in Napa and this hotel is very well situated, just a short distance from the highway. It is on easy access to both Napa and Sonoma. Bel Abri is very neat and clean. Great for independent travelers. The only problem is that it doesn't have staff in attendance after 7 pm. Breakfast was included and delivered to your room, excellent quality. I would go back and recommend to friends.

Good location, lovely and ample sized room, very comfortable bed (and fantastic sheets). Wine and cheese in the evening was a nice touch.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Cozy lobby area with afternoon wine/cheese offerings and a chance to meet other visitors. Very convenient to local freeway and acess to wine country. Simple, but tasty breakfast offerings served in room.

We are fairly new to the Bed and Breakfast scene, but enjoyed this one a lot. Complimentary wine tasting with snacks in the late afternoon, and delicious breakfast served to our room in the morning. The staff was very accommodating to serving breakfast as early as possible to get me off to a morning seminar across town!

First of all, I want to make it clear that Bel Abri is NOT a true B&B (even though it is classified as such on many search engines). Nevertheless, it met our needs. It is located just off of 29--the main thoroughfare of Napa Valley--therefore convenient for wine tasting. Our room was beautifully decorated, few stains were noted on the floor, but that wasn't a huge concern. We had a superior room on the 3rd floor, and we loved that it had a refrigerator. We discovered that our room (301) is adjacent to the kitchen...food scents in the hallway (but thank goodness not in our room) and plates clattering were the clues. The food was quite tasty, but the servings were stingy for my husband (2 pancakes...c'mon!)....you only get to choose 3 items on the menu! The restaurants in Downtown Napa are excellent...but about 8 blocks away. Outlet shopping nearby!!

Bel Abri is a nice small property close to Napa. Few staff if you are used to Hotels, thus, there will never be anyone at teh front desk prior to 9:00am, or after about 8:00PM. Even then, they are often away from the desk. The breakfast served in room is fine. The wine and appetizers served nightly are fine, but you are in wine country and the overall quality is not what one might expect. Small pours(2 oz) which is what the front desk person/server/ jack of all trades said they were supposed to pour. The first night we arrived late ad when we got to our room at 11:00PM were surprised we heard loud and clear the TV from the neighboring room--until 3:00am. Nope, no front desk to call. Make sure if you use one of theri loaner DVDs it works. Ours was so scratched it didn't function 3/4 thru teh film. A long distance to any sort of dining. Depsite this, it is clean and pleasant in the actual rooms.
