The hotel was going through a "renovation" and the room we were put in was DEFINITELY not renovated. It felt like a motel in a small town in Europe. It smelled, the bed was awful and the TV was from 1983. We walked by other (renovated) rooms, which were LOVELY, but our room was SO bad, it was almost impossible to stay here. Luckily it was for one night so we dealt with it. The staff was very nice and the location was great but the UNrenovated rooms were atrocious. I recommend the hotel but only if you get a renovated room...otherwise DO NOT STAY HERE.

Look elsewhere for a good stay in Mtn View.
Feels unsafe. When I came to my room I didn't need my key to open it because I was able to push it open. When I asked the front desk about this the women at the desk told me that I needed to wait for the door to shut completely. I went back and the door did lock but I still did not feel comfortable leaving my valuables in this room while I was away. The window in the bathroom had a screen that was falling off the window. The window was also open with no way of shutting it. I was told that only employees have access to the window side of the building and nothing would happen to me. Still. I did not feel safe. There were also bugs getting inside of the room because I couldn't shut the window. The bed was noisy and uncomfortable. When I checked in the women at the desk asked me for a credit card for my already pre paid room. Later I was called in my room and asked for another cc because mine was declined. I told the clerk that the room was paid for. The clerk called back and agreed with me but then let me know that I should know that my credit card was declined so I couldn't use it for purchases. I found this statement a little rude. I checked my accounts and nothing was wrong with the cc. When I handed it to the clerk at check in I noticed the women didn't swipe the card. They also didn't check my ID to verify my name and ended up checking me into someones room. The room itself was ok. It was very old and dirty. I felt like I had to do an investigation for bed bugs. In the end. I decided to cut my trip short and go home without staying the night in mountain view. I am sure there are better hotels available. Even if you have to pay an extra 40 dollars. It would be worth it to have a hassle free day.

Not real great
Literally smelled like someone had just used the restroom, closed the door and the smell was unbearable. It had the sanitary strip around the toilet so I know it was cleaned but the smell never seemed to go away. Carpets looked dingy and dirty as did the bedspreads. Pretty much a dump. Great location though.

Needs some serious maintenance
The hotel was run down. I guess there's a reason this was the only hotel in Mountain View with a room available.

Good Location for our Trip
This hotel was perfect in the location for our trip to CA. It was close to my children's home and friends houses. The price per night was in our price range. The staff were very friendly. If we were to stay here again I would opt for the opposite side of the bld. we were on the side with the traffic. Over all nice place, not fancy but best for the price.

Have stayed in this hotel before and it was as good as the last time. Wish the breakfast was offered a bit later in the morning but overall a great stay.
