Pay the extra money

I do not advise anyone staying at this hotel. I am really not picky about the hotels I stay at. It takes a lot for me to feel uncomfortable. As soon as we walked in the toilet was broken, there was a half eaten jalepeno just sitting in the refridgerator. It looked like our neighbors were renting at a weekly rate. We filled up the bathtub and the water was green. Our friends had a big bleached stain on the carpet where it looked like they cleaned up a murder scene....I know the price is tempting. I would stay somewhere else though.

Pleasant, quiet comfortable sleep

I had a quiet room on the ground floor back by the pool away from El Camino Real. It was roomy with the amenities promised (microwave, refigerator, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, shower/tub). The check-in was slow with a woman who could not seem to find my key.

mountain view fiasco

told me they were fully booked and could not honor my reservation. lady at desk tried to pawn me off to [...]and make it [...] pro blem to solve even though the fault lay in this motel's practice of allowing people to extend their stay at the expense of bumping later arrival's reservations. i stood at the counter for around half an hour while this lady was calling orbitz. as my patience began to wear thin i said, "you know i am going to leave you a really [*] review online when i get home." this apparently got the lady's attention and within a minute she found me a room after all. too late, here is your [*] review.

Not Pacific Inn Anymore

Positive: price was good; location is good; all basic amenities and services are fine. Negative: staff were error-prone and slow. Failed to return an important call about the booking. Failed to provide adjacent rooms as requested by phone. Rooms were not clean enough to meet expectations. Seems to have gone downhill since it was Pacific Inn I had stayed there a couple of years ago and it was A-OK then.

Name has changed,2 Camino Inn and Suites

Cleanliness and maintenance were poor, "breakfast" was a couple donuts and coffee, shower door wouldn't close. I'm not recommending this to anyone! We had a group with 4 rooms, one party got in late and they gave one of our rooms away, even tho we had prepaid for it.

Camino Inn

Hotel under renovation, lobby & outside looks great, some rooms are still old & dingy looking. The jazzuai tub was great, some other reveiw said there was breakfast, but it was only coffee, juice, milk, donuts & muffins. Refrig & Microwaves in rooms were great. Would stay again. Great price! but No pool (for summer).

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

The shower water was warmer at night (depending on how early you get up.) Next door is a Sizzler & a Susui place. Just a short drive down the street from Stanford. In Mountain Veiw go to Casto St to dine -"Molly Maggies"(play pool, eat,& have a drink). In Palo Alto go to California St to dine -"Palo Alto Sol" had great salsa & food!

Good Rates

This was my third stay at this motel. This year they are renovating and many rooms were unavailable. My only compaint was the shower area needs safety bars inside the shower and the floor needs some kind of antislippery product to prevent slipping. As a senior with two knee replacements and a hip replacement this is very important to me. Also a handicap elivated commode makes it easier.

scary hotel by the hour
santa cryz, ca
Oct 4, 2010

uh - naked guy in our room...

we got there, and the guy at the desk took forever to check us in. Then he finally gave us a key to our room, which we went to, carrying our baby. A naked man came to the door, (apparently the room had already been given to him ?!) - not before my 18 month old son, saw him, naked.... So we return to the front desk, and receive a new key to a new room. The new room reminds us of a scary, bad movie where it has possibly been rented by the hour. Though a large jacuzzi in the back impresses me, however the window next to the jacuzzi is open and seems like a good window to climb into, or out of, kinda scary. My husband goes back to complain, and the guy gives us a remodeled room in a different part of the hotel. The remodeled room feels alot better, and doesn't feel like it's from a terrible movie about crackheads, but we are already rattled. It takes a little while for us to wind down and relax, since there are no strange stains on the carpet in the new room... Our dog seems happy, the only reason we chose this hotel - because it allows pets, to also stay here. We won't be returning to this hotel again, pet or not... If you get a remodeled room, or the old rooms will explain the discrepancy in reviews about this hotel. Go for the remodeled room and you will be ok, if you get an old room, you will feel like you are in a bad movie about crackheads and hookers.......
