Otter Inn

This hotel is a bit outdated but well worth the price. It is 1 block from the ocean and 4-5 short blocks to the Aquarium. The staff was very friendly, the room was cleaned and stocked and parking is FREE! The only thing I would do different is to get a room on one of the lower floors. Although I had a partial view of the ocean from my room, the seagulls hang out on the roof all night and make a lot of noise. Being right under them woke me up a few times during the night. Other than that my family thought it was a positive experience and would gladly stay there again!

Location is perfect for the money! Room was clean. Bed was uncomfortable. Staff was odd. But for the price it was perfect!

Basic, but clean, great location, and friendly staff. Also parking is included! Building is a little on the old side, but overall a great stay.

We had a fabulous time in Monterey! We chose the hotel because of its location to all of the things we had chosen to see. The staff were very friendly and gave us great restaurant suggestions in which to dine. We had requested a room on the top floor and on the end in order to have quiet evenings and they granted our wish. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definately stay there on our next trip to Monterey!

We went for the aquarium which was within walking distance. The hotel is nothing fancy, but for the location and price well worth it. It was clean and comfortable.

This hotel is within walking distance of Cannery Row and is reasonably priced. The room was ordinary and rather dreary but fairly clean. Parking is free and you may leave your car there until four pm even though checkout is at noon. Two of the management staff had a profanity laced shouting match in the lobby. It was like an episode of "Cops". We won't be back.

I was very pleased with the location of this Inn. The staff was friendly and efficient. If your looking for a basic room in a great location, centrally located, this is the place for you. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to Cannery Row and down to spot where you can get on the beach. However, we could hear out upstairs neighbor walk across the floor and shower at 6am. The room was stuffy so we opened the window which was ok until 4 am when the restuarante delivery trucks started driving by. The muffin basket was nothing to be excited about but it was full of snacks. The person at the front desk when we checked in was not very professional. If you want to be close the Cannery Row and do not mind hearing your neighbors, then good choice.

Located 2 blocks from the Bay, right off Cannery Row and an easy walk to the Aquarium and great restaurants. We parked the car and never used it to go anywhere. Rooms were fine but nothing extraordinary except the view of the Bay.

My wife and I planned a last minute trip. We searched all the hotels in the area. We have stayed at everything from your $46.00 a nights to your $300.00 a night hotels. We found that location is more important than price. This hotel combines the best of both worlds. We had a great location, price was mid-range. The room was comfortable, parking was great, and we were able to walk everywhere. The night staff was excellent, We would stay here again (and have already made our reservations).
