Great Monterey Stay

Last Minute Aquarium Trip

At the last minute my children and I decided to go to the Monterey Aquarium. We needed to find a room. With my kids giving their instructions in the background, pool and cable LOL we found this hotel. It was perfect. The rooms were clean and recently redone. The pool was clean and indoor, perfect for our late arrival. It's not much to look at from the outside but this is a real gem. I would recommend this motel.

GREAT LOCATION / GREAT PRICE

Great location close to the Aquarium, Monterey Fishhouse, 17 Mile Drive, Old Delmonte GC, Asilomar, Denny's. The breakfast is not deluxe but the price is free. The rooms are clean. There is a pool and there is ice. I would return again!

Have stayed in better places

The rating should be two stars for this motel. The beds were comfortable, chairs in the room were not in the best condition. The toilet in the bathroom was to low to the floor. Went to the office and asked if they had a room with a toilet that was higher and showed me a room that was worse than the one I was in. I ended up staying in the original room. Next time I won't pay the full price until I see the room first. Overall, I would not recommend or stay in this motel again.

Great Pit Stop for the PCH Drive

Couple of friends and I drove up the PCH from LA and decided to make a pitstop at Monterey before continuing on with our trip. We took our time driving up from LA and by the time we got into Monterey after dinner, it was already 10 pm and we were all exhausted. We pulled into the motel at 10.30 and went to the check-in area. At first, we were greeted by a somewhat disgruntled old lady who looked annoyed that we were bothering her when it was clearly past her bedtime. Looks could be deceiving when she then called a lovely gentleman out later who helped us check-in. The whole process was a breeze and within 5 minutes, we had our room's keycards. As for the motel room, calling it a room would be an understatement. It was more like an entire studio apartment; complete with a countertop divider and a fully-equipped kitchen. The room was well-kept, clean, neat and looked very newly-furbished. All in all, the room was definitely worth more than the 80 dollar price tag I paid for a one night stay. If that wasn't enough, the complimentary breakfast the next morning was also an added plus. Despite the limited array of food, we weren't complaining as we felt we were definitely getting more than our money's worth for simply one night's stay. My verdict? I would definitely recommend this motel if anybody's looking for a night to crash in Monterey.

Birthday Weekend Trip

My boyfriend and I decided to takes my parents along with sister and nephew to Monterrey for the weekend to visit the aquarium As we arrived to our location, the check-in was pretty standard. They were expecting us and the person in the office was friendly. The outside of the location was dated, but the rooms were updated and contemporary, clean and smelled like fresh linens. The bathroom was clean and modern. However, the vent in the bathroom from the room I stayed was very low and seemed to be on the verge of burning out. Plus the light surrounding the vanity kept turning off. The room that my parents stayed in had a broken ironing board, along with an low vent in the bathroom as well. My sister's room with my nephew was fine. And the continental breakfast was typical. The check out was quick. All in all I would rank our stay as average and I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Cannery Row has a restaurant by the name of Fish Hopper. It is more in the high dollar range but the menu is outstanding. Delicious and pallet worthy to a wide range of customers. Scenery is amazing when dining near a window. The views are beautiful from all sides and the sun setting on the water is amazing. You may even catch the occasional sea otter swimming in the ocean. However, the service can be slow and the drinks could be mixed better. I still however praise the watermelon margarita.

great place to stay when looking for adventures

The room was clean and well tended, it was nice that it included a microwave and refrigerator. We didn't spend much time in the room, mainly using it as a place to sleep and shower before our adventures each day. Breakfast was as advertised, just a continental, and we didn't make use of the pool.

A Very Clean and Comfortable stay!

Reserved on a whim with a great price! Entered our room and it smelled wonderfully clean, like fresh laundry! This is very much a turn on for me, since I always travel w/ room spray! The room looked freshly renovated and modern. Bed was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was a carbohydrate feast, which for hubby was fabulous, but for this gluten free goddess was a no! Fortunately, I had *enny's across the street!
