Appears dated but room was fine
Location was great. Exterior of the hotel appears dated but the room was spacious, clean and the bedding was very comfortable. Easy walking distance to marina and Venice Beach. Good value for the price.

great location
HOTEL WAS CLEAN. BED WAS COMFORTABLE. AWESOME LOCATION...WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF VENICE BEACH AND MANY STORES AND RESTAURANTS. THE BIKE RENTAL THEY HAVE THERE WAS CHEAPER THAN THE OTHER PLACES WE LOOKED AT AND HAD A GOOD SELECTION OF BIKES. I WOULD DEFINITLY STAY THERE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS. NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE.

Find some other place to stay...
When checking in, I asked the desk clerk for help with luggage. She smiled scornfully, handed me some paper, and told me to read about the hotel. There was no help with luggage. We were put at the very back of the hotel and far away from any view of the marina and this, despite the obvious fact that there were few people staying there. A frig cost $15. The room was poorly equipped, poorly decorated and in poor repair. We were glad to leave and would not ever come back.

The marina is worth touring. There are several good restaurants, none at the hotel. The coastline--from Marina Del Rey to Malibu--is well worth the trip. You can easily take a side trip down Sunset Boulevard to Beverly Hills.

Very friendly welcome from staff
Very friendly welcome from staff on arrival. Good rooms, except central airconditioning is not very nice as at first the room was too cold, then ended up hot.

Poorly kept facility.
Rooms were large and the staff helpful. However, the facility was very old and poorly kept. The heat had no in room controls, we had to call the frond desk every time we wanted to turn it on and off. When the heat was on (the temperature could not be controlled; it could be either on or off only), the room was extremely hot to the point that you had to keep the window open.

The hotel
This was a family Thanksgiving trip. Though short it was great. Hotel was OK but needed some upgrading. Cleaner carpets and cleaner bathroom tiles. Staff was accommodating and pleasant.

Nice hotel, spacy rooms
We had a good time at the Marina Rey Hotel, which has a good location. We liked very much the spacy rooms. The bar and the restaurant though are not amazing. The staff was really nice.
