Marina Del Rey Hotel

The hotel was great to stay at simply because of its close proximity to Venice and Santa Monica, places we love to visit. Other than that, we couldn't wait to get out of there. The view of the bay was nice, but our room was old, not very clean and the staff was not very professional. In fact, they gave our room away the first night, even though we made reservations weeks in advance! The man at the counter smiled as he told us this! [...] What a headache! They had to put us up in another hotel nearby. That particular hotel was better than this one! We would never go back to this hotel!!!!!

Required $50 bond, credit card wouldn't work and they wouldn't take cash. Room was very dated, TV had bad reception. Noising floor boards on floor above. Requested late check out they said it shouldn't be a problem but you would have to ring up in the morning and sort it out. When I rung up in the morning they were not willing to help at all, I was 90minutes late checking out so they charged me $50!

This place is a run down hotel that needs a complete renovation. The furniture was probably the original since it was established. One of the room's carpet was soaked, and wreak with a stench. I had to change my room and still had the same result. There were a hole in the wall in one of the rooms. The bed was sagging and felt like I was sleeping on coil springs only. The window curtains had stains. The whole room was filthy and I itched the whole night. The floor and walls were so thin, I could hear people walking and talking throughout the night. The staff was not helpful in making better accommodation and resolving these issues. I would not even stay at this place even if it was for free. I can't believe this was a 3 star hotel and it charged for so much for this place. I do recommend Orbitz to remove this hotel from their website in order to better serve their customers. I definitely felt ripped off, especially for the price I had to pay for a place such as this. This place would have made Motel 8 look like the Ritz.

Went to Marina Del Rey for a wedding. Thought this hotel would be a good deal since price was decent compared to the other hotels in the area. Well, as the saying says: you get what you paid for. We checked in late in the evening and got assigned a room on first floor. Noticed that the room was not in great condition: everything looks old and not well maintained so we asked for another room. The front desk gave us another one a couple of rooms down the hall from the previous one. OMG. It could not get worse: carpet was wet, bathroom was in poor condition and they had a hole in the wall that was not even patched up. So we decided to return to the previous room. I didn't sleep well since the beds were humid and I was so scared of finding bedbugs. Even the curtains were stained...looked like blood stains to me.We took pictures of the room and wished we could post it online. We would turn on the A/C and in the middle of the night, it would shuts off by itself. I guess they're trying to save on electricity bill. The shower needed new caulking and the water would change temperature constantly. We had a balcony and the only way to lock it was a little screw-in system. Never saw that one before. My in-laws stayed on the second floor and it was much better. So if you STILL want to book your stay there, ask for a second floor room.

The hotel walls are paper thin. We could hear neighbors beside us talking clear as if they were in the same room. Neighbor above could be heard walking, opening balcony door and flushing toilet. The bed was good, but that is the only update that has been made. Also, air conditioner wasn't working. Left thermostat on 65 all day and returned to a hot room. Notified front desk and they send a plastic fan, not the solution we were looking for.

Decor is dated. Rust in the bathroom. Thin walls and ceiling. We could hear the people upstairs walking around late into the night and early morning. I believe people actually live in this hotel. Shady characters in the lobby. Recommend to others? No way. Only positive - good customer service at the front desk.

The Marina Del Ray Hotel was a little disappointing. They were doing construction, the bathtub and toilet had hair in it when we arrived. We also noticed a problem with flying bugs, possibly termites. This was are first trip to LA and If we return we will probally select another hotel.

The room was clean but run down, old hardware on walls from things that once hung there and some stained and sun faded old wallpaper. Very noisy..you could hear the people in the room above and in the two rooms next to us. The noise outside and in the hallways was pretty loud. The staff was very gracious and helpful - very good service.

Staff was great. The place is rather run down. It took awhile for me lock the sliding glass door because they apparently didn't bother. I'm an avid weight lifter and I had a hard time closing that door. Toilet and shower water were running the entire day. You can hear EVERYTHING around your room.
