great introduction to the LA area

We had a great time at the Belamar Hotel. Service was friendly and attentive; the room was spacious, clean and nicely appointed; the location in Manhattan Beach was near or had easy access to all the LA sites we wished to visit. Also, the hotel sat next to a beautiful walking/jogging path that led directly to downtown and the water. The only thing that would have made our visit better was if the hotel sat right on the water--but then it wouldn't have been as affordable!!

Amazing boutique hotel

Staff was pleasant and helpful throughout our entire stay, providing a very warm and friendly attitude. The hotel was beautiful, with a decor that was chic, yet homey at the same time. Great location from all of the LA sights (about 20-30 minutes from each), yet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely don't forget to make it down to the beach for the amazing views! I would definitely make try to make it back here on my next trip to LA.

revamped though missed the mark

Reasonable example of an old hotel whi attempted a face lift but ended up with an eye lift. Its clean enough with decent amenities and proximity to LAX and the beach cities. Those seeking a romantic / family or quiet local should venture closer to the beach.

One night "day-cation" with my girlfriend

We moved to northern Cali for a year, so we love to get back down to LA and relax whenever we can. I stumbled across the Belamar & we booked a one night stay. The hotel is very nice and well put together with an outstanding and helpful staff. It is tucked right in the middle of a beach neighborhood with restaurants and shops within a mile. I highly recommend staying there!!
