Perfect stay

Loved the courtyard and the restaurant. Hotel restaurants are usually just ok - this one was spectacular! The staff was the best and the food was delicious! If you love to walk the path to the beach is wonderful. I didn't have a car but I did not feel stranded.

Gave away my room!

I arrived at 6pm and they did not have a room for me! I had to go to another hotel that was less convenient. Won't be going back here again!

revamped though missed the mark

Reasonable example of an old hotel whi attempted a face lift but ended up with an eye lift. Its clean enough with decent amenities and proximity to LAX and the beach cities. Those seeking a romantic / family or quiet local should venture closer to the beach.

A ten minute walk north or south will get you to a bunch of different eateries. The restaurant on site is pretty good too.

notwhat i expected

This hotel has a kind've modern edge to it...bright yellow walls, and unflattering poster on the walls. The lobby consists of a 'make shift' table top...and at first glnace you wonder if this is where you should check in. Carpets are worn, as well as the rooms...The restaurant/ lounge is medicor..breakfast consists of a buffet only... , price was ok...but will not be returning to this hotel...for a couple bucks more there is better

Relax while doing business

I've been staying at the Belamar for many years, and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is great, and its a short walk to either Manhattan Beach or Manhattan Shopping Village. If you want to explore further, there's Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach not far away, and less than a 30 minute taxi ride gets you to Santa Monica, where 3rd Street Promenade is just amazing. I would definitely recommend The Belamar Hotel.

Wonderful for business travel

All too often, I stay at the same stodgy, overpriced, bland hotels when I travel. This was such a nice surprise, however! LOVE the DingDongs (or whatever they're called) on check-in. The art deco design is awesome, with great accompanying music and art throughout the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the free wireless worked throughout the place like a charm. I also ate at their restaurant on the second floor and highly recommend it!
