Maintenance needed

The Good ------ 1) The hotel offered one of the cheapest rates for the area. 2) John the manager is a one man army. 3) Toilets are clean, rooms are decent. The Bad -------------- 1) Room door locks refuse to open, as the mechanics are almost worn out. Have to put the card 5 times and push and pull to get the doors open. 2) No iron box and ironing board in the room, upon request John provided them. When I connected it and started ironing my shirt the fuse tripped plunging the room into darkness. 3) The breakfast is very basic

couple stay over-night

The hotel was clean, and the Front Desk staff is courteous and nice. the General manager was helpful and very friendly and made sure that everybody was comfortable; the continental breakfast was perfect before we left for another trip.

Might not be perfect...but was adequate and clean.

Could stand a little renovation/reconditioning. But it was clean & the owner was really great and very helpful! Would stay there again in a heartbeat. There are nicer places for more $$, but this was great for the price. Also felt pretty secure...owner warned us not to leave food in car because of bear break-ins.

Great stay! Great value!

Excellent value! The owners are really friendly (and so is their dog), and they happily made recommendations for us for dinner, and gave us coupons for area restaurants. Free stable wifi. The room was huge, and had a fridge, microwave, and pull-out couch. The bathroom was located in the middle of the room, which was a bit weird, but whatever. The free breakfast was average: cereal, toast, English muffins, coffee, tea, juice, cocoa. Would definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Mammoth Lakes!

Mammoth Lakes Brewing Company tasting room is a short distance away. Open 10am-6pm daily. $4 for a tasting flight of 9 beers. Awesome beer!

The owner is not so cool

The room was okay for the price. We only stayed overnight. Everything was okay until we went down to have the continental breakfast. My girlfriend used the toaster, walked over to check out the activity brochures while she was waiting, the toast started to burn, so I got up and turned the toaster off. The the owner starts threatening to charge us $200 if the smoke alarm activated (the smoke alarm is directly above the toaster BTW) Then he went on berating my girlfriend for not using the cheap plastic toaster correctly. He was totally rude and inappropriate.

the best customer service in the US

I chose this hotel based on its price and location, but foremost on the reviews which praised its staff. It has one of the two most polite and helpful proprietors I have encountered any where in the US.
