Lovely place room could use updating.

Mammoth Lakes is an incredible place. The Mammoth Mountain inn is nice but we stayed in an out of date room that was located directly across from the outside bar with loud music and entertainment. The cost is high for no continental breakfast and an outdated room. $20 extra fee added in fine print at check in to boot. Wanted to cancel to get a room closer to town and the cancelation fee was more than half the price. So we stayed here. . False advertising. Loved all the kid stuff available but I did not need it.

Best place so far!

On a month long road trip, we've used hotel searches often. This hotel is the nicest we've stayed at so far. The room was great, staff was excellent. Other than the $7.50 for 2 cups of coffee, which is outrageous, this was a very pleasant stay for our Yosemite leg. I would recommend the place only on the off ski season, because I bet it's crazy when the powder is around. Kind of far away from the park, but the drive was excellent scenery.

can get aliitle bit better

Room was not bad but can be better. Bathroom is terrible. As soon as I walked in the bathroom, I could smell urine. Noticed that there were urine stain around the toilet near the floor. Seems like they did not clean it. Styaff was very friendly.

Beautiful Resort

I wish I could have stayed longer; the only problem I have with hotel was the 'resort" fee that you have to pay for internet, movies that you can get from the front desk, the shuttle service, things along those lines. I was only there for one night and wanted to pay just for the internet, but you can't. The man at the front desk took it off my bill. Food at the bar was delicious.

Watch your bank statements

The room was very nice, clean and comfortable with the best of products for baths, etc. The front desk staff was rather nonchalant throughout and at times flippant, uncommunicative, and disinterested. But besides the exaggerated room price and the extra $20 "resort fee", they tacked on a $75 charge that I caught while looking at my bank account. When I brought it to the desk clerk's attention he unconcernedly stated that it was a security deposit that would drop away from my account upon my checkout. It has never disappeared and when I called the manager, he informed me that there is not record of the extra charge. If you really want to stay here and pay the extra money, look at your bank charges or credit card charges and don't believe what they say about "security deposit."

Convenient Location

We made a good choice staying at Mammoth Mountain Inn. The ski rental was right by the lobby area in the main lodge. The lifts were just right outside of the inn. No need to rent a car, just use the free transportation system to go to the village or the town. You can even request for a van from the front desk to take you to places and bring you back, which we did one day. There's even a daycare on site in case you need extra help.
