cozy mountain escape

We had a great escape from the noise and hustle of the city. This hotel and staff were perfect for a relaxing, nature getaway. Located near mammoth lakes there are countless hikes and panoramic views around every corner.

Excellent

We stayed here for three days and the staff was Very nice. The room was clean and looked updated. It did not look old. They have a nice pool table on the third floor. On the first floor they have a workout room, the jacuzzi, steam room, and spa was very nice. The continental breakfast was good. Location is excellent and close to restaurants, the movie theater, vons grocery, and cute boutique shops. Overall our stay was excellent, friendly staff, everything was clean, and the location was perfect. We will come back here again.

Good quality for the price.

Great service, updated bathrooms and room decor. Close to a lot of good restaurants and only a few minute drive to the gondola. The only complaint we had was you can hear the other people in nearby rooms clear as day in your room. We booked our room online but you can call the hotel and add a pet for $25 a night.

Served our needs...and then some

We went to Mammoth to ski. We did not require a "fancy" suite, and we certainly did not require a huge hotel bill. The Mammoth Creek Inn was centrally located in town, and was a few steps from the shuttle bus stop. The Inn staff was stellar: present, friendly, and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. We did not use the spa, the steam room, or the gym, but they all looked clean and well cared for. The main lounge was comfortable, with a TV, games and complimentary cookies & beverages. The rooms were very clean. The towels were so white and fluffy and soft, I thought that they must be brand new. There were two terry cloth robes in the room, for us to use if we wanted to robe ourselves to journey to the spa downstairs. The bed was quite comfortable (except for the middle ridge-because it was actually two beds made up as one king sized bed). The sound insulation between the floors and walls could have been better, but our neighbors seemed to respect the space. Our view was of a neighboring business's parking lot, but this is Mammoth, and we have often found similar views in this town.. There does not appear to be any air conditioning, which we didn't need as it was winter, but I could see that opening the windows to a large parking lot on a summer night might be a problem. The parking lot seemed to be empty, however, when we were there ( two nights). The only other negative was a lack of proper bedside lighting. We like to read in bed, and we found the lighting to be a bit dim to do that. Really, all we require is a clean place to sleep and bathe, and a comfortable sleep. It isn't much, but in Mammoth, it can be a difficult thing to find. We definitely found it at the Mammoth Creek Inn. We shall return!

Nice Place

We came to Mammoth from a 2 night stay in Bishop (wish we'd come here instead) as our last night out on our vacation. The Inn was very nice-good room-comfortable, clean, restful. Staff was very helpful finding me a stamp to send a postcard, directions to places we wanted to go etc. Breakfast was good, many choices. Thanks

pre backpacking

queen sofa beds tortured our teenage and young adult children (spring matresses). Room was very dark and they use low lumen LED lights. full Kitchen was nice, space was adequate except when sofa bed was out in downstairs (we had loft unit). Bathrooms fine. Suggest they replace the spring matresses with memory foam or put a real queen bed in loft.
