Beautiful scenery

I had booked this hotel almost 2 months before our stay and honestly forgot about what I booked! When we checked into our room, I was so happy to see we booked an amazingly large room! It had everything- full kitchen, living room, separate bedroom. Everything was clean and the staff was super friendly. Our bed was so soft that I did not toss and turn or wake up once (I'm a very light sleeper). There isn't a place to get breakfast at the hotel but there are so many places within a mile or so away. They do have a little coffee room near the lobby that has really great coffee though. The 1st night we realized the power was out in our room. I couldn't see a thing and the maintenance man never showed up. So I had to drag a floor lamp near the room and use the living room outlet for some light. Anyway the maintenance guy didn't come until I called again the following morning. The clerk was very apologetic and waived my resort fee without me even having to ask. I was very impressed with this. We will be staying here again on our next trip out.

Awful experience

The first set of key cards we were given would not work. Walked all the way back to the front desk and got another set of keys. The same thing happened on Day 2. Two different employees tried to get into the room. Eventually, they had to take off the door jam and kick the door in. We were moved to another room, which was promised to be an "upgrade," but when we got there it was much worse and we were moved again, this time to a larger room with a bad shower and a clogged sink. Not a great experience and would not stay again.

Nice Hotel, but way too far from Yosemite valley

Nice Hotel, but way too far from Yosemite valley. This hotel was listed as if it is 35 miles from Yosemite valley, in reality it is about 96 miles....we spent most of our time traveling to and from hotel....

Best location, best place in town

This is not our first time staying at Juniper, and will not be the last one. To us has being the best by all means. We travel with our children 5 and 3 years old, we stay in the one bedroom type of unit, it fits our needs perfect! The resort is located at the bottom of the lifts, only steps away. We try other places, Juniper is the best in town.

Great location

Very well located as a ski in/out location, as long as the hill isn't too slushy trying to get back down! It is out of town so you will need to walk or drive to the village or town for eating and shopping options. The coffee shop downstairs is great for a take away coffee before hitting the chairlift. Hiring ski equipment and getting lift passes can all be done within a minutes walk from reception. The decor is a bit dated though - a bit more Hampton Inn than luxury ski lodge. We had a double studio which was quite spacious and had a very well equipped full kitchen, separate lounge wih fireplace and huge balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Reception staff were lovely and when we extended for an extra night, they gave us a reduced rate and wiped the resort fee and we had free internet during our stay. The gym, pool and spa was well equipped and easily accessible. We only stayed for 2 nights and the one time housekeeping called was at 4pm and we were relaxing after a full day skiing - hopefully something they are better at during the height of the season. All in all, a good deal out of season and very well located, but if you are looking for a more central, modern hotel, you could probably find something for what they charge (once you factor in resort fee)
