Great retreat after moving son into USC dorms!
We stayed at this hotel based upon its centralized downtown location and proximity to the University of Southern California (USC) campus as we were moving our son into the USC dorms for the first time. We loved the enormous 400 sq. ft. size of the junior suite with 2 comfortable double beds, flat screen TV, sofa seating area and wonderfully sized double bathrooms. The rooms were immaculate and the staff were incredibly kind, helpful and courteous. Hotel parking was also very convenient and safe. While the hotel will be closed at year-end 2011 for 5 years to undergo a billion dollar renovation, we plan to return to this hotel to stay when we visit our son during the fourth quarter of 2011. The hotel is conveniently located close to shopping (Macy's), restaurants, and the subway. Overall, this was a perfect retreat after a tiring day of moving boxes and other belongings into a college dormitory! We look forward to future stays!

Affordable & Easy to Find
The Wilshire Grand, Los Angeles was affordable and clean. The best word I can use to describe the hotel room would be cramped. It would have been nice if the vanity was seperate from the bathroom. The beds seemed very close together and were not comfortable. The most disappointing fact of my room was the fact that it was cold all the time, regardless of where I set the thermostat. With a little work, the hotel rooms could be enjoyable rather than just adequate.

Great Staff Hotel
The Wilshire Grand has a staff that are very accomodating. From check-in to check-out, they were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and quiet. The temperature did not adjust easily to the temperature set, but, no big deal. I would recommend it to others.

Nice, but Old
The hotel was relatively nice, but some of the floors are badly in need of renovation. We were initially given a room on the 5th floor that was apparently decorated 30+ years ago. After complating, we were moved to the 16th floor where the rooms are newly renovated and relatively nice.

The hotel still has the feel of the mid 1950, the wing my room was very clean but needs updating. My room furniture was old and damaged. The security and staff are well trained in Customer Services.

My review of Wilshire Grand Hotel
The Wilshire Grand Hotel, located in downtown Los Angeles, was a good experience for our family. The bathroom was small and the double beds were adequate. All in all, a wonderful old hotel and a good experience.
