good location

Would recommend Tue, Aug 21, 2007
The Westin is really good located in Downtown LA. The room are not really big but the view was gorgeous. It has a swimming pool for the guests which is actually quite small. From the hotel is really easy to reach either Hollywood or Universal studios. Whatshowever the area is not really lively so if you like partying I would choose some other place in West Hollywood. There are buses to get St Nonica (720) but the route takes more than 1 h.

Shopping hint

You have shops and restaurants in the hotel building. Not really lively at night.

Would not recommend Fri, Aug 17, 2007

Time saver

SOme of the corporations, ideal for people who are going for interviews in downtown,You will get stuck in traffic on your way to interview because you can walk

Great for business trip

Would recommend Tue, Jul 24, 2007
It has everything you need for a business trip. rooms and the bed are great. Internet access also. Checkin is a breeze. Staff is great on helping out and answering your questions. Not the place to go for vacation though as nothing of interest ( execpt if your there to see the Dodgers ) is near, and traveling around is a difficult. Only complaint with the staff was a waiter giving himself a tip when giving me change.

Money saver

I reccomend the food court on the fourth level to eat at. doesnt look like much but the food is on par with anything in the hotel and the price is great.

STUCK IN THE ELEVATOR FOR HOURS

Would not recommend Mon, Jul 23, 2007
OTHER THEN WAITING ON A LINE TO CHECK IN FOR OVER 35 MINUTES AFTER FLYING FOR 6 HOURS, I WAS STUCK IN THEIR ELEVATOR FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. THEY MADE IT UP TO ME BY PAYING FOR THE PARKING AND A COUPLE DRINKS. I WAS RATHER DISAPPOINTED OVERALL.

Dining

THIS HOTEL IS PRETTY FAR FROM EVERYTHING UNLESS YOU WORK IN THIS CITY.

Fabulous Downtown Stay

Would recommend Sun, Jul 22, 2007
We had a great time at the Bonaventure the hotel is gorgeous and located very centrally in downtown Los Angeles. They have great work-out facilities and an outdoor pool which gives a nice view. They were also filming a movie nearby and that was fun to watch. We will stay there again.

My review of The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites

Would recommend Sat, Jul 21, 2007
The hotel and facilities were outstanding; but the location downtown is best suited to the business traveler. You need a car to get to the tourist attractions in the area; unlsess you want to use public transportation. The metro system was very good- clean, quick & safe.

Shopping hint

High end shops in hotel. Also had food court that was somewhat pricey.

Very Nice

Would recommend Mon, Jul 9, 2007
The Westin staff are the best part of this hotel. They were all extremely helpful and friendly. The room service food is expensive but the best I have ever had. The room was a bit awkward of a shape and small but comfortable.

Many amenities

Would recommend Sat, Jul 7, 2007
This hotel had many conveniences, with a food court for light fare, and formal restaurants too. It had a beautiful lobby and lounge area. We so enjoyed the pool, but it does need a little updating with some new lounge pads and maybe some umbrellas for shade. The bed was very comfortable. The room was a little small with not much drawer space for clothes or for 2 luggage racks. The refrigerator worked really welland liked the compimentary water. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for the price; a little rundown

Would recommend Tue, Jun 26, 2007
My impression of the Westin was that is it a magnificent facility on a downward track. For example, my room was quite comfortable with a great view and control over the temperature. However, the varnish was coming off the cabinet that held the tv, drawers, inroom fridge etc., one of the cabinet doors had a broken hinge and was in danger of coming off, and there were shelves filled with crumbs. The fitness center is great, but the air is not cooled. The shops and restaurants all seemed empty or underutilized and the pool area was a mess with doors meant to be accessible only to guests proped open and no security or other personnel in sight. The manager of the place where I got my haircut (I was the only customer) was rude to the very nice young lady who gave me an excellent haircut.

Dining

The Public Library is nearby and also a Macy's center with shops and restaurants. The metro is a few blocks walk. The area is chiefly occupied by towering bank buildings.
