Cheapens the Ritz Brand

Would not recommend Sun, Oct 11, 2015
This is just 3 floors of rooms and a lounge/spa stuck in the middle of a huge office building. I refer to it as the Holiday Inn Express of Ritz Carltons...cause you get a breakfast buffet that ain't all that. Only go here if you have an event at the Staples Center or LA Convention Center and want to pay almost $1000 dollars for a standard room a night...taxes, tips, valet only, lounge access. The lounge has minimal offerings. Even if you're a big drinker and eater you wouldn't get your money's worth. There's ZERO views to be had.

Shameful Valets

Would not recommend Wed, Feb 26, 2014
For a 5-star hotel with a steep price, the valets are extremely rude & classless! It is a shame since the valets are your first impression to this hotel. The African-American fellow named Mike was the rudest one of all! Shame!

The pool and spa experience made the stay wonderful.

Would recommend Thu, Jan 10, 2013
We were there post Christmas and New Years holiday. Not to take in all the L.A. Live events. Rest and recoup was the order. The pool, spa, extra amenities at the pool deck and sunsets make it all worthwhile. The! The bed linens were lively, but i detected a divot on my side of the bed. Unacceptable! The bath linens were frayed of all things. Surprising. It was possible to tell that some of the furnishings were upgraded and some were tired and old. Fun shower, tub, and mirror tv for the kids. Love having the enclosed w/c for my husband. Sweet and helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel on the basis of location and lovely pool experience.

Just Perfect

Would recommend Wed, Aug 17, 2011
Great place and location. The building is a work of art. But what made the trip memorable was the staff. The staff at the Ritz Carlton could not do enough for us all with a huge smile. We'll be back.

Entertainment hint

Go see the taping of a late night show. FUN!!!

Can't Complain

Would recommend Mon, Dec 13, 2010
Booked a 1 night stay after watching a show at Nokia Theater. It was a birthday gift to my bf coz he wanted to stay at the Ritz-Carlton for his birthday. It is a great hotel with a couple of extra perks to make your stay more comfortable (tv in the bathroom, house slippers, dental kit, comb, q-tips etc). The rooms have gorgeous contemporary decor, which is my style so yes, I enjoyed my stay. Bf promised me a longer stay next time. But is it really worth the price? Well, I am not easy to please but even I said 'wow' a few times. My bf really appreciated the surprise, which made it well, well worth it. But but but....I guess money is one of the tools society uses to classify different items and set them apart as superior. The Ritz-Carlton is up there. Honestly, unless money is no object to you, there are lots of great++ hotels around the area for half the price.

Nightlife hint

I am an LA resident and hang out at LA Live pretty often. Lots of good dining options and you can even go dancing at the Conga room; all within a few yards from the Ritz-Carlton. There's a Ralphs store a couple of blocks away. Definitely a prime location.
