pictures of the room look larger than it really was. There was not enough lighting other than the sunlight from the window. Fridge was not cold enough and had an odor. The shower knob was broken- when you turn it, its either scorching hot 95% of
the turn, and 5% normal. The free breakfast was great. Restaurant and bar seemed beat up and old. Parking was only 12 a day which was very cheap around the dt area. At night, outside is a bit ghetto with a lot of homeless.
I was in LA for a conference and stayed here for four nights. The room was very comfortable. It was great having a daily breakfast buffet included in the room price. The restaurant/bar Duke's in the hotel was great for a good lunch at a reasonable
price. There is a rooftop patio which is nice to smoke or have a drink on and has a great view of downtown LA. The staff was very friendly and the location is great. You can easily walk to many of the downtown attractions. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Check out the Golden Gopher bar on 8th St. Chill bar and reasonable drink prices (for LA).
Couldn't be better. Lots of history in this place. The "athletic" part of the athletic club is unbelievable. Pool, weights, cardio, all excellent. Within walking distance to everything. Excellent parking value. The breakfast was included in the
hotel rate and it was outstanding. Will stay here next time.
First time in LA, it was a little hard to navigate myself to the hotel. Other than that, it was great experience in every way. Two things:
1. It was easter weekend, probably because of that there was no early check in available.
2. Parking is not
free. Its $12 (?) per night.
spent a fair amount of dough to stay at this place. service was great, place was clean, but it was the worlds smallest hotel room. fortunately, we only were there for one night but any longer would have been a challenge. there were some other
issues like the room being 85 degrees when we got there (someone turned tstat up) and the shower was really hard to dial in the right temp. biggest issue was that the AC unit was really loud. picking this hotel was a rookie mistake on my part, next time ill spend the extra $75 to stay at the marriot across from the stadium.
