Always stay here when in LA

I wish they had drawers to out your cloths! 2 people staying 3 days and only 1 small drawer for cloths, that's crazy! I also get pool room, this time it was towards the back and one evening that had a private party with DJ music right under our window that was stupid loud for the small space those people had rented. Wasn't pleased! Overall we will return in Decemebr when we come back for one of Ellen's 12 days of giveaways!! Yippeee

Worst Hotel

Rooms are small. Bathroom/Showers are small. Staff is not friendly. Can not sleep at night because it is too noisy, walls are paper thin. Horrible experience

Worst hotel stay ever!!! :(

This was the second time I stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt. The first time was over a year ago and I had a lovely time (girly weekend, birthday party pool-side). This time at the Roosevelt, it was the worst hotel experience of my life. And I have travelled all over the US and Europe, so that is saying tons. We stayed in the "new" poolside rooms. The rooms are now trashed, scratched floors, chipped paint, stained carpets in the hallways. The pool is now open to any random person who comes in and gets a drink at the bar. After the randoms leave the pool, the lounge chairs are left dirty and nobody is there to clean up. I thought we could get some pool time in during the AM with other real guests of the hotel, but both mornings (Friday and Saturday), work men were trimming the palm trees around the pool! My lovely swim was covered with palm tree sawdust. Coming back to the hotel at night (after 2am), I had drunk random people pushing me as I tried to pass by the pool to my room. Sad that the Roosevelt has to be so desperate to make money. Oh, and no free internet??? Seriously?

Fantastic!

Iconic hotel in a great location and a fantastic price. Stayed at the Roosevelt for 3 nights with 3 friends in May and we all loved it. Our room was big enough for all of us (and our luggage!), modern and recently decorated. Walking distance to the majority of Hollywood sights - although LA is a driving city. The pool area is lovely and the staff were helpful.

A David Lynch Hotel

Hotel is very cool but very weird. Reminded us of a David Lynch movie set. Dark and moody. We did get lost a few times in the hotel. Loved our stay. We stayed in a Cabana Room that overlooks the pool. We had a balcony view of the pool and Tropicana Bar. Only complaint would be that the room was very dark (not enough lighting) and we had to track down ice (no ice machine on our floor even though the hotel directory said their was ice on each floor). We ended up going to the bar to get ice and were told we have to call front desk and have ice delivered to our room.

Wonderful weekend getaway

Despite all the negative reviews I read online about the Roosevelt, I found it to be simply wonderful. We had a beautiful suite, received first-class service from check in to valet to poolside waitstaff and more. We did not eat at the hotel nor drink at any of the bars, mainly due to us having other obligations away from the hotel. We did want to get a night cap on Saturday evening but decided to do so in the our room. The pool bar and other lounges were full of 20 somethings sloppy drunk and obnoxious. I have to say the only two things really keeping my review from being 5 star is location, that part of Hollywood is VERY run down and way too touristy. The second being the non-guests of the hotel that come to use the pool and bars. Young pretentious people only wanting to see and be seen and with WAY more attitude than class.

Small room

For the money our room was very small. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear the music from the lounge area below. Outside our room was the roof top with generator fans that we could also hear all night. We mentioned this to the front desk but didn't get any response from the person on duty so we just bared with it. For the money we expected a quiet and larger room. The hotel is beautiful inside but very dark. Takes some getting used to. The location was very convenient however if you have a car parking is $26 per day and there is no parking near by.
