Old and Dirty

I was not happy with my stay at this hotel. I expected it to be small and unique, however, it was just small, old, and dirty. The hallways were creepy, like something was going to jump out and attack me at any moment. I also did not like that there was no iron or fridge in the room.

Wouldn't change a thing

Got their late and had a late check in after reservation and it was not a problem at all. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They allowed us to use their parking when trying to get official documents taken care of at the consulate. The room was spotless, tidy, and comfortable. It was over all a great stay and comparing it to many of the hotels near Koreatown, this is A++

Where do I hang this?

Our room had no place to hang or store clothing. The room is huge, so a dresser and an armoire would be nice. It would also be nice to have a place to hang towels in the bathroom. The staff members are pleasant.

Simple, clean, inexpensive.

Just needed to stay one night near the Staples Center. The Shelter was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, had parking, and all at a good rate. If you just need a place to crash, this is it.

updated, no fuss hotel

This hotel was clearly going through a transition at the time we visitied, but the staff was very attentive, the rooms were clean and modern, and the location was ideal for sightseeing around downtown Los Angeles.

Good stay

The staff were nice and friendly, the room needs more decor and there was no ice machine or iron in the room. We felt like we were bugging the staff (although they were nice about it) when we had to ask for ice every few hours. It would be nice to get a machine. Also im glad parking is free because the lot is so small and the cars have to be double and triple parked. I think the room was nice just too plain. Very clean.

A place to park and take the Metro

It is a good hotel to have a place to park the car and take the Metro. This modern and boutique hotel is in a bit of an antiquated building, but it was served it's purpose. It was clean and staff was friendly.

Great LA budget hotel

This hotel was perfect for an affordable 3 night stay while visiting LA for the first time, as long as you realize it is not going to have a ton of amenities. For example, you need to request items like a hair dryer or mini fridge and they may not be available if they are fully booked. This was not a big deal to us but it may be to some. It is located close to the freeways and many major streets. The section of Koreatown it is in felt very safe, fairly quiet, and was close to some coffee shops and good restaurants. We had a corner room on the top floor and it was very quiet most of the time. The room was reasonably clean, bed was very comfortable, service was fantastic, parking was easy and free! We also really liked the modern and minimal style of the rooms. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!
