The Ritz Milner Hotel, at 8th St. and S.Flower St. in downtown Los Angeles has been restored to it's original grandeur throughout the interior and exterior of this stately building and now joins the list of "boutique" properties operated by Milner Hotels. A full service restaurant and Pub are on the premises and are scheduled for restoration later this year. The new "boutique" Ritz Milner Hotel is proud of it's long standing reputation for having an experienced client-friendly staff and providing consistently clean, comfortable guest rooms at reasonable rates. The average tenure of the workforce at this Milner property is fourteen years, making our staff both well versed in the hotel's operation and downtown Los Angeles' many attractions for guests. It's prime location, a few blocks from the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center, makes the Ritz Milner Hotel an ideal property for all reasons and any season. The Milner Hotel is also convenient to the subway with connections to Long Beach and Hollywood. In addition, the hotel arranges tours to various places of interest such as: Universal Studios, Disneyland, Los Angeles city tour of the homes of the stars, Six Flags Magic Mountain, J. Paul Getty Museum, Various beaches, Knott's Berry Farm and even Sea World in San Diego. Whether visiting Los Angeles for business or pleasure, the Ritz Milner Hotel will provide the perfect stay. Small, simple, great value.

This hotel is in a great location and about 30 percent cheaper than everything surrounding it. The building is very old, the rooms are tiny, and there are basically no amenities. It works great for one night if you want to go out downtown and not drive home, but I would not recommend it for any longer than one night, or if you plan on spending much time in your room.

Safe, Central and Best Price

The hotel is at a perfect location for walking to convention center, staples center, grocery store and restaurants. Building is older but nicely redone and very clean. Walls are thinner than most (and more expensive hotels i.e. Marriott, etc.) so bring earplugs. Room is perfect if you're only there to sleep. The area is very safe and walkable. CANNOT beat the price. HIghly recommend if you're on a budget.

disappointed

we stayed here since it was close to the Staples Center. That was the only plus. Room was tiny, a double bed and a chair. The two nites we stayed, the trash trucks came at 4 am, 5am and 6am both nites. Extremely noisy. No parking..have to pay $12/day next door. Free breakfast was so-so.

Great location

The location was perfect for my needs. There is a grocery store just a block away as well as other excellent eating locations. The staff was very helpful, rooms were clean. The building is old enough to be a historic landmark so of course the rooms are very small compared to today's expectations. The rooms were retro-fitted for electricity and bathrooms were added. There was plenty of hot water, but my shower mixer had been put on wrong and the water didn't "mix". When the staff was notified, a plummer appeared right away. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good with a nice selection. I saw many families staying there and the price was great for a family's budget.

conference trip

Ideal location, close to convention center and staple center. Tiny room but average however bed was not comfortable. Wasn't expecting anything fancy but mattress seems to have overran its useful days-it was in concave shape! For a very short (2 nights) trips, it was OK! Would not recommend for long trip but for a night or two: SURE!

One Night Only

This hotel was very clean with am awesome continental breakfasts. It was also close to several attractions that were in walking distance, BUT as for the room it was very small and the ac did not work properly.

If you lose your passport, this is close to the Canadian Consulate!

Needed to find somewhere for one of our travel companions to stay after she lost her passport and needed to be close to the Canadian Consulate. Good location, ok room, good price!

Excellent location

Someone told me it's not to stay in this area. However I think it's ok if you are alertive. Super convenient. Near subway and Macy. You don't need to join the local tour in the hotel. You can get to Hollywood, Universial Studio, China etc easily by using metro subway. The economy room is not good as it's very small but it's also ok if we think about the cheap price. The studio suite is excellent!

A Very Nice Location

As all other travellers said, the room is not big, but big enough for one person. It is fairly clean too, but just one thing I need to point out is the smell of the room, don't know where it comes from, maybe a bit from bedsheets (the smell of pretty strong kind of detergent or something) or from carpet? no idea. And the window is very hard to open, so I suggest the staff there should open the window while they are doing the room service to allow some fresh air to come into the room. Other than the smell, it's a pretty good place to stay for its price and great location if you just a traveller who needs a bed to rest at night, hehehe.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Metro rail station is just one block away, it's very convenient, you can also get some maps and metro instructions from the Downtown Guide near the station on 7th Street, it's very useful.
