Long term stay
Ann M Dec 9, 2009
I was very upset with this hotel. I have been here over nine days due to a great rate from [...]. The second day I was here I ... received a phone call at 8:00am saying that they were renovating the room they just checked me into the night before and had to move me by 11am. I moved to a room, which they upgraded to a junior suite that hadn't been cleaned so I had to wait for an hour before I could be settled. The next week up until today, they were removing carpet next door, upstairs, the ENTIRE hallway outside my room early in the morning so all I heard was the constant hammering and banging and talking of the workers. The elevators kept breaking down therefore one must wait for 5 minutes or so to crowd into the only operable elevator that was shared by guests, housekeeping, carpet debris ect. Housekeeping kept coming in my room even though my do not disturb sign was up on the door outside. I was at one point exiting the shower and thought someone was breaking in because the door was opening without any knock saying "housekeeping. " I had to open my door with my towel on to tell them to stop. They then never refilled the coffee, creamers, cups or the counters, all they did was vacuum and change the sheets/towels. Yesterday, I was preparing for my departure and had all my clothes and personal items sprawled all over the floor, bed, couch and bathroom. I said to one of the housekeepers after I placed the do not disturb card on the door , "please do not clean my room I will be back in an hour and I have my stuff everywhere," she nodded and I went on my way. I arrived to find my clothes and personal items moved into piles, the floor vacuumed, the sheets changed with my clothes now on the floor that were originally on the bed, my personal bar of expensive organic soap gone (thrown out im sure.) I told the front desk and their defense was housekeeping may have thought I left the do not disturb sign up by mistake. What makes me most upset was that there was no warning downstairs in the lobby or on the website that there would be renovations and noise, as well as no compensation for all these problems I was having at the hotel. I came here for a relaxing time and left with a pounding headache.

Visited son's school and rental options. It cost $16.95 per day to park our car at this hotel!!! Outrageous!!! The maid ... kept forgetting to give us washcloths. Privacy sign was not allowed to be put on our door to prevent maid entry (to protect our belongings). They said they would enter no matter what. It wasn't the best looking room (decorated cold) ... but was clean. The bathroom was very small ... no room to put our toiletries on the counter. Very small television. People were very friendly and hospitable. The hallways were very upscale. They were very good about wake-up calls. Continental Breakfast was very good.

Look for parking under buildings on side streets. There are no parking areas along main streets ... and if you do find an occasional parking lot, it costs at least $15.00!! If you park under buildings, you can usually get your parking ticket validated and only pay $2.00 for parking.

Two of us were staying at the Ramada Inn for the weekend. We checked in on Friday and the person at the front desk was ... extremely friendly and polite and displayed extremely great service. I would have given the place a five based on him but it got much worse. We arrived in the room and it was right on the main strip so our room was directly outside the main street and was very loud. In fact, it was so loud that I had trouble sleeping and I can sleep through most things. They offer complimentary breakfast from 7:00-10:30. We woke up around nine and headed down around ten. I had forgotten my wallet so I went back to the room to grab it and then my friend went ahead of me. I was not sure if the restaurant was downstairs or up so I asked the man at the front desk if the restaurant was downstairs. He was extremely rude and told me that I could not go downstairs and that they had cut the elevator off because they were no longer serving breakfast. It was 10:10 at this point. I told him my friend was down there and I needed to get downstairs. He kept telling me I could not go downstairs and the elevator woudl not take me. So I went ahead and got on the elevator and sure enough, it did work. I guess all the people from the upper level were going down too. After breakfast, I was so dissatisfied with the service that I went to complain and the man was so rude when I complained, I checked out early. No questions about my stay, was I satisfied. Nothing. I would search around if you are staying in town in the area, not worth the hassle of dealing with bad service on vacation.

Near freeway. close to lots of great tourist destinations. On-site car rental was very convenient. Found the staff to be ... helpful and friendly. Had read bad reviews about the staff and didn't experience any of that ourselves. Hotel was clean. Beds were luxurious, rooms were clean. Fridge in room, though ours didn't work for 2 days before it was fixed. Our room wasn't huge, but we were barely there.

Upon arrival the staff was very rude, so rude in fact that people cancelled their reservations as they arrived. First of all ... aside from the ignorant and unhospitable staff, you have to pay $16.50 aside from the cost of the room to park in the parking lot that the hotel obviously doesn't own. This dump especially the location where it wasn't a surprise that we saw prostitutes roaming the streets. One guest that I conversed with on the elevator, by the way the main elevator wasn't working, said he would rather stay at Motel 6 and that's pretty sad. The only reason we stayed there is because the show we had bought tickets for was going to start in an hour otherwise we would have gladly relocated. Last but not least we had to look at 3 differnt rooms before staying in the one we chose. The other two rooms smelled like paint as the painters were still on site painting the room and the other one smelled like someone died in it. There are too many other hotels around the area to not have to deal with this place. It definately put a dark cloud over our trip.

This hotel is perfect for the savvy traveler. Our room was quiet, spotless, fairly new and we found having a fridge, an ... in-room safe and a microwave very handy. Toiletries were nice. Not having to worry about breakfast was a bonus. The only downside is that the hotel is not in the nicest neighbourhood. That said, it is close to two subway stations and many bus stops. May of LA's attractions are easily reachable from the metro stations. Overall a worthwhile stay and would definitely stay there again.

For the price it was acceptable. But they were doing construction near our room until about 10 PM which I found very ... disrespectful. Then had the joy of waking up around 7 to more construction. There was equipment piled all over the hallways including in front of our door as well. There's a $15 parking fee per day which I can understand. The staff wasn't very informative or friendly and didn't seem to be too enthusiastic or helpful about any questions I had. For the price it was reasonable for the location, but not worth the amount we paid. I would not recomend it or stay there again.

You walk out the door, you go left your in a scary area, you go right go a couple blocks not bad. The place is a nightmare. I ... woke up my 1st night, with ants crawling up my arm, then moved to a room where they were doing consturction on the room above me, then to the 3rd floor room with a shared balconey. In my 3 moves i lost a shoe. They couldnt find it, how do you not find a shoe? The free breakfast is a joke, you expect these breakfasts but the eggs, coffee they didnt even do that well. The eggs were these cookie cutter round discs and the toast was just wonder bread. it wasnt a zero, but I ate a great breakfast at a mexican diner for 5 dollars and that was much better then their breakfast.
