Average

Since i've read a bunch of review before booking this hotel, it was pretty much what i was expecting. Glamorous lobby and bar, average rooms. The room was decently clean, but you can see the age; bathtub was very small and tight. other than that, it's just a regular hotel, probably not a 4 star, i would say 3.5. But we got a really good deal when booking the room, so it was worth it.

The hotel was an average hotel (stained carpets, old scratched mirrors) The Bed was VERY uncomfortable. The matress had waves in it , very worn, very old. Staff was very nice. But I upgraded the room due to free internet access and at the end of my stay I got charged 9.95 per night and was told all Orb itz customers do not get free internet service.

Getaway

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are old and the beds need more blankets. I was cold almost the entire night even with the heater on. No safe in hotel room..

Great Location

It's right in downtown, only a couple blocks from the MOCA museum and coffee and pastry places. The hotel itself seems very old and hard to keep clean, but the staff did an excellent job taking care of us and ended up upgrading our room and removing the room service charges because we didn't have the best time here. This hotel physically needs a lot of work, but the staff gets an A+.

Room not as pictured

Though the lobby and restaurants were very charming in their old-school glamour, the room was not. The photos shown here are for 'concierge' upgraded rooms, not the regular-rate rooms. They should be more clear about that. It was a stark difference.

Old Hollywood

The Biltmore is a beautiful old art deco hotel. takes you back in time to the glamor of Hollywood. Great resaurants and the staff and service is very good. The room itself however had lots of room for improvement. For one, the entire floor seemed to be smoking floor and our room smelled of old stale cigars and cigarettes. The cleanliness was not so wonderful either. The bathtub needed better cleaning and in the middle of the night a bug landed on me! We were also situated above the airconditioning for either the hotel or another building and that was very loud. But the Arcitecture is amazing! So incredible. This hotel would be wonderful with some updates and no more smoking!

gr8 place 2 visit but don't stay here

The public areas are beautiful, the staff is friendly but it is way too noisy to get a goodnight sleep. The room was big but the windows are single pane and I could hear the MTA buses putter up the hill on 5th Street. Parking is $40 but I paid 13.20 across the street in Pershing Square. I got a better nite sleep 2 weeks prior at a Motel 6 in Auburn, CA that was next to a freeway than at this prestigious and more expensive hotel. It was quite disappointing.

There's a 24 hour convenience store next door at the Pacific Building, great for snacks or toiletries.

Meh

The hotel is elegant to the extent of its history but that's about it. It's in a dire need of a renovation.

Recent stay at Biltmore

Lobby and common areas fabulous. Parking was $40 per day compared to $30/day at other downtown hotels. No bathrobes, makeup mirrors, or glassware in rooms - unusual for a hotel in this caliber and price range. Hotel service was very good none-the-less. No shopping on nearby blocks. I got my car in the garage but they ran out of room while I was staying there.
