Saving money on a room isn't always worth it.

The staff were extremely rude and stuck in their own personal negative worlds. Hardly any eye contact, no warm smile or friendly manner at all. They all act like their lives suck and it's all the guests fault. I went here to "save money", rather than stay at the Westin where I was going for a workshop. Sometimes, paying a little extra for friendly service is worth it. Also, when I got in my car to leave, I was block in by two cars. I had to sort this out with the very friendly staff and more than amiable man who works there. Don't go there. It's not worth the negative energy sucking, headache.

Would not stay here ever again

Found two cockroaches near sink. The room had one a/c unit that couldn't reach the other side of the room because of a wall divider and door. No fan in the bathroom... the door hits the toilet bowl. Drug transactions occurring around the hotel late at night. Staff was rude upon check-in.

Close to LAX Nothing else positive

Very odd entrance. The front of the hotel is crowded with cars for rent allowing little space to stop and check in. Rooms are decrepit and parking is cramped. I'm sure there are better cheap motels.

A reasonable price stay

A good location to explore the L.A, or for a nite stay in between connecting flight. They offer some free food, nothing special. They have free shutter to manhattan beach, nice place to hang out.. Overall experience is pleasant. Room is decent, ambience in the common area is nice, wifi and parking is free. They have a small swimming pool.

Nice Surprise

After reading some of the negative reviews, I knew I was taking a gamble on this hotel. But I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly. Free shuttle to LAX worked great. Bed and bathroom were clean - that's most important to me. Reminded me of European hostels where I've stayed - always a bit of a surprise, and kinda funky. Free cake, cookies and glass of champaign was fun. Great value for the backpacker or business traveler (and open-minded families). Get's the job done, and a lot more fun than the budget franchise places.

Don't go walking far from hotel late at night - not a great area. There will be more entertainment inside hotel anyway, and you will be safe.

Parking Was a nitemare! Seriously!

They only had valet parking because they had limited parking. woulda been fine if it were a real valet with an attendant. and Security. However, when i had to leave at 4:30am they required me to call 20 minutes ahead to request my car. So I called ahead and they said ok now we just need u to gather all the license plates of the cars that are blocking you and we will move those cars. it took 45 minutes to get our cars out in order to catch our flight. I was livid! i barely had time to return my rental vehicle to the rental company. also, they did not collect most peoples keys so, some people they had to wake up and ask them to move their car. totally rediculous. otherwise, it was a nice clean room very interesting set up like lil paradise. Front office staff were hard and honestly lil rude. not helpful nor friendly. bad area though!

Totally worth it!

Much better than what I thought it would be. I wasn't too sure what to expect. When we finally arrived to check in I got the L.A. tourist vibe. Lots of people from Europe and beyond. Outside of the building looked like a rundown apartment complex. Our suite was spacious, clean and had two wall mounted flat screen tv's with working remotes. The pool area was cool because it had a little outdoor bar with a jukebox and free popcorn. Music playing, people hanging out at the pool and tables gave it a nice chill but fun feeling. The restaurant bar lounge was ok. Spent a few bucks on cheap drinks and met some cool peeps from New Zealand and Italy. We didn't spend much time tgetr the following because we spent all day at the nearby beaches like Marina Del Rey and Venice. My wife and I love the L.A. beach vibe so we wanted to getaway for a few days before Summer ended but we didn't want to spend too much over $100 on a room we would spend very little time at unless it was within walking distance but everything this weekend was in the hundreds a night. @ $55 a night I thought it was totally worth it!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Nothing much within walking distance. The hotel offers free shuttle service to Manhattan Beach from 10am but returns at 2pm. If you want to stay all day at the beach its better to drive and park in the beach for $15.
