Kawada Hotel

My stay at Kawada hotel was quite satisfactory and just what I expected. It was certainly a very economical option for a downtown Los Angeles. Reception people were quite nice. Location is great. It is two blocs away from Walt Disney hall and music center, which was a major factor for me. But also, Union station is not far - you can walk there. Dowtown is also within a short walk. Room was not glorious, but not too small and not dirty. I did not see any roaches or flea. The only issue was, perhaps, very poor ligthing of the room. I have used an internet access point in the lobby.

Good for the price, the hotel is really under average, but the price cannot be beat.

broken bed and TV..what else can I say. Parking is impossible. When TV does come on only 7-8 English channels the rest Japanese.

Nice Reception area. Friendly staff. Room was big enough but did not smell good. Room had kitchenette but no utensils so was useless. Furnishings were very dated & shabby. That said the great price was reflective of the hotel condition; what you pay is what you get. Convenient for Union Station, Angels Flight & Olvera Street.

This hotel was in the middle of downtown, so the location was great. However, the internet comes at a cost and the connection itself is shaky. Nice cafe next door & valet parking.

Very convenient place especially when you go to a concert at Walt Disney Hall etc.

Only 2 blocks from Walt Disney Hall and 1 block from Civic center Metro station.

This hotel was bare bones as far as hotels come, but that was exactly what I needed. I didn't want distractions with internet and TV. I wanted a quiet room, close to Disney Hall where I could eat, work and sleep. That's what it was. I was happy to have a fridge and microwave so I could buy fresh produce at the Grand Central Market, or heat up left overs. The staff is extremely friendly and the cleaning crew was great! It's an old building that is in desperate need of renovation, however, the cleaning staff took great pride in making it the best that they could.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The reviews and the star rating for this hotel were WAY, WAY offbase. This is at best a 1 or 2 star, old run-down hotel, that looks like it was converted from a halfway house. Everything about the experience was terrible. They had to change my room because the keys wouldn't work, the floor was damp like there was a leak, and the neighborhood was a little sketch. If my wife was with me, this would have been a major problem. I would advise them to shut down the hotel and sell the property. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
