great choice

great staff - very helpfull and polite. everything was good quality; clean rooms, great bed, good location (but not perfect). Overall good experience. I would srecommend the hotel to someone else and would certainly come back. Parking is paid (18 dollars a day), and yes, you need a car at this location.

the getty museum is right next to the hotel, so with that said, it is a good location and nice area.

Not bad...not great...it was good

Great beds....smaller room than I'm used to I guess... bar upstairs is pretty pricey... close to the freeway, about 10 minutes from beach...worked out great. Valet's hustled but got backed up around 5ish with check in. Check in took a bit. No self parking...ya need to pony up the money for valet. Hint..call valet from room before heading downstairs and it will be there...if they answer. Staff was nice though. Only two elevators...might have to wait a bit for one going up or down.

Disappointing

The beds and appointments were superior, however a valet parking feature was not readily apparent on booking. Some of the staff were abrupt. Our room was very noisy which can not be helped as the hotel is right on the freeway. The restaurant was excellent. We have had better experiences at other Joie de Vivre hotels!

Nice hotel near Skirball Centre

I booked a room here for two nights to attend a wedding at the Skirball Center. The hotel was nice and very clean. The valets were nice, friendly, and quick. Service at the front desk was decent. My check-in took some time because of an error on their side. My room faced the 405, so the noise from the freeway was quite loud. But the noise wasn't really an issue for me since I sleep pretty soundly. But I would recommend a room facing away from the 405 if you are a light sleeper. The bed was super comfortable.

Great for romantic getaway

Decent price for a nice hotel near UCLA

Parking is valet-only and expensive but it is very close to UCLA, the Getty Center and major hospital complex. Even though it is right next to the freeway the rooms are quiet inside. The regular price is normal for the area (still high for my wallet!) but the Orbitz sale made it affordable.

Go to the UCLA Hospital/Westwood area, a few easy miles from the hotel for amazing college town food and entertainment on the cheap.

great hotel

Got a great deal on Orbitz. The hotel is good, although there are no restaurants nearby except the one onsite. Great service; very friendly front desk staff. Restaurant has great views and good food, but tends to be expensive.

The Hotel it self is amazing.

The Hotel it self is amazing. The view is gorgeous and the rooms are beautiful. The service however is horrible. We waited for ever for someone to come to the front. OH! let me tell you. PARKING IS NOT INCLUDED. i would think that they have parking for the people who come in and spend a night. NOPE! They only have valet and it is 18$. over all it was nice but the parking and service was horrible.
