Had a lovely time at hotel Angeleno. I could literally see the Getty Center from my window and heard that they have a complimentary shuttle there. The work out and bathroom amenities were nice and the room was decently spacious. The location was
really great, you could just hop on the 405. Also their rooftop bar is a nice place to9 grab a nightcap before bed.
The only downfall was mandatory valet parking that I was not informed of upon booking. You are unable to go to your car at all in their parking lot and I felt guilty not having the cash on me to tip every single time I needed to leave. Also the pool is a bit small so if that is a huuuge part of your vacation - esp. if you are a large family with several kids, you may want to consider a different hotel for your aquatic adventure.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Never got to go but was recommended to eat at the nearby, highly reviewed restaurant called LEMONADE.
Hotel is more of a 3 to 3.5 than a 4. Requested a west facing room, away from the 405 freeway. Was not ready upon arrival at 3:30 pm. Waited till after 4:00. Extremely loud traffic noise at all hours, although it was quiet in the room. Location is
good if you don't mind the noise. Room amenities were basic for a hotel to be considered 4 stars. Not bad overall, but not great either. I would basically say it's the norm for over priced LA hotels.
The staff was extremely nice but didn't overdo it to the point of seeming fake.
The room was excellent, quiet and very comfortable.
For the money, this hotel is far better than the overpriced junk you find nearer to the beach in Santa Monica. If
you are looking to spend $175-$250 night in this area, try the Angeleno.
Staff were consistently helpful and seemed genuinely friendly.
Location is quite central to many things in LA (including the Getty) and is literally adjacent to Highway 405, so easy to find. This location also means that there is really nowhere
to walk, except beside very busy roads with few sidewalks. The hotel does provide a free shuttle within a three mile radius, which saved driving and having to pay for parking at the Getty. This shuttle and the valet parking worked well, but having a car would seem essential.
While quite small, the room was clean, with a very comfortable bed, good linens, and well equipped with a coffee maker , safe and bar fridge. The bathroom was relatively spacious, nicely finished, clean, and well lit.
They have done as well as possible with the pool, but it is in a small area essentially surrounded by high concrete walls and the hotel building, and the noise from the traffic is ever present. There are places to be in the sun and the shade but it would not be my idea of a place to relax for any period of time because of the unavoidable traffic noise.
There is a dining room with a bar on the 17th floor. The view is great and the food we had was on the pricey side but excellent quality.
The business hotels in West LA can often get filled up and very expensive depending upon events. The Angelino is a sure bet if you are in West LA. It has amenities for both business and casual travelers. The rooms are comfortable. They make it
hassle free with reliable free wifi and free valet parking. Everyone is very pleasant.
The restaurant on the top floor is very good.
As the hotel is right by the 405, it is very easy to get places without the terrible backups on the on ramps that you often get when you stay in Century City. The downside is that some of the rooms on the freeway side are a bit noisy and you need to turn on the AC so you don't hear the car noise.
The hotel is reliable, pleasant and they make everything easy. A good value for West LA.
