Right where we needed it.

Would recommend Thu, May 15, 2014
Location was good, however wasn't expecting the $150 deposit on top of $48 parking. Not the hotels fault, but would have been nice to get right info from the customer service department! Free breakfast was great, just wish the other amenities were open later, 8 pm for the pool and 10 pm for the sauna?? Didn't even get a chance to enjoy them. Overall hotel was good for what I needed it for, to get the greek theatre!

Dining

Wat Dong Moon Lek Noodle, trendy hole in the wall just around the corner, looks scary from the outside, but really hip and trendy on the inside, good food too.

A decent hotel for the price

Would recommend Mon, May 12, 2014
Good location, as it is located very closely to the metro, if you don't have a car. Not a lot in the immediate area, but the metro is so close it doesn't matter. The staff seemed friendly enough, and the omelettes prepared by Hugo were a real bonus!

Attractions

If you fancy a nice hike, it is a good walk up to the Griffith Observatory (we did it) The views are stunning!

Great for visiting Hollywood

Would recommend Fri, Apr 25, 2014
If you plan to spend most of your time visiting Hollywood, Universal, etc. this is perfect. The Metro is 2 blocks away and you can easily get anywhere. If you want to go to the beach, plan an hour drive. The hotel is nice for a place to crash and breakfast is good. The picture is actually the back of the hotel so don't look for that when you're pulling in.

Our Stay

Would recommend Wed, Apr 2, 2014
The employees were very friendly, Loved the ladies at the front desk, all employees were very helpful. Was very clean for as old as the hotel was. The breakfast was very good, loved that there was a chef making omelets per your request. The only complaint was that the fan in the room was either off or on did work as a thermostat. So we would have to turn it off and on, was not convenient:( Also the towels could have been nicer, very old and not soft. Bed was very hard.

Money saver

Leave your car at hotel and take public transportation, the parking anywhere you go is $20.00-$25.00 very high.

Good Value for the Money

Would recommend Sun, Mar 30, 2014
We stayed primarily for a site visit to Raleigh and Paramount Studios for tours. Very convenient to both. There is a grocery store and plenty of restaurants near by and even an LA Metro stop. Close to highways (though best to avoid them if possible). 2 Queen beds were nice with fridge and microwave. Parking adds another $22 per day, so consider that in your price comparison. Hotel elevator slow, so best to stay on lower floors and take the stairs. Complimentary breakfast was nice with omelet bar and waffles, but not enough variety to keep it interesting for 7 days. Good central location if seeing lots of various LA sites, but about a 45 min drive to the ocean. Overall, a good value for a decent LA hotel if you are looking for something in a moderate price range.

Time saver

not much for entertainment, shopping or dining within walking distance, but short drive for most things you might need

From the front desk staff to housekeeping staff to the quality breakfast each morning, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable, with private balcony. Thanks for a great experience!

Dining

Palmetto's restaurant just down the street is a hidden gem -- excellent food, service, portions.

Best kept secret in LA

Would recommend Mon, Mar 17, 2014
I couldn’t sing the praises of this hotel more. Yes, the area that the location is in isn’t the best… but where in Hollywood is? Its about a 10 minute drive in any direction to get to the major hotspots (or a $8 Uber ride that are about a 4-min wait anywhere in LA). When we checked in, the staff was pleasant, helpful and prompt. The parking is additional, but thats typical too. But for the safety and the security, Ill gladly pay it. Its a large private lot that is lovely with fountains and plants… and a guard 24/7. The rooms were spacious and clean. It appears that they have all been renovated recently. Comfy beds, beautiful marble bathrooms. The hotel itself is pretty cool. The morning breakfast is a huge savings and really good. An omelet chef is there every morning making made-to-order omelets and scrambles. Waffles, sausage, fruit, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee and tea also available. There is an open-mic comedy show in the evenings thats kind of fun too at the bar. But above all else, the courtyard is straight out of a movie. Twinkle lights, wicker furniture, a nice breeze and fountains, its a little slice of heaven. There is a pool as well but we did not partake. I have already told all my friends, hands down, best hotel at the best cost you can find. I gambled and glad I did.

Dining

Maggianos at The Grove is about 20 mins away. Great patio dining.

Useful Location for metro into Los Angeles

Would recommend Mon, Mar 17, 2014
I stayed at this hotel rather than a downtown hotel to attend a conference in downtown Los Angeles. It was certainly good value compared to downtown hotels. The location is excellent being only a short walk from the Metro Station. The area is safe but a little run down. Breakfast was good but there was no restaurant for the evening. "Room Service" consisted of adverts for local takeaways. I found only fast-food restaurants within walking distance.
