Just one night

The room had a weird smell but it wasn't too bad. AC wasn't working but could've been the outlet I plugged it into. The refrigerator wasn't plugged in either. It reminded me of a room in an apartment. Overall it wasn't too bad. They had a parking lot which was a plus. Very quiet hotel.

Nice hotel

Stayed here for one night. This is a simple hotel that has lots of cool picts of LA in the corridors' walls. Nothing spectacular, but a nice place to stay. No major issues.

Good Experience/Value

This hotel was very convenient if you are looking for a place to stay on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. The location is good and is within minimal driving distances from downtown and West Hollywood. Would recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a basic resting spot in LA that is priced at a relatively lower cost. Not necessarily the ideal place for a romantic weekend or family getaway, as the hotel itself is similar to a low cost hotel. However the hotel does look rather elegant from the outside and has a unique take to it. For the price, ~ under a $100 a night, it should meet your expectations.

Decent for short term trip on a budget

Pros - parking included, internet included, location, clean except for the windows. Cons - Loud on the street side, surroundings (across the street) are a bit depressing, no in-room phone.

Nice Historic Hotel

Very nice renovation of the old hotel, very near Paramount Studio. The room was nicely decorated and equipped. The only limitation was the bathroom, which detracted from the overall stay...no counter space, and no shelves in the medicine cabinet, making use of the bathroom difficult

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Astroburger, a block past paramount to the west, is a gem for fast food...with numerous greek and vegetarian choices.

short staying in LA

just one night experience. Place is pretty good and well located. they've got a big parking but don't have an elevator so you have to carry your baggage up by the stairs by yourself. The hotel is very cheap but offer you all the things you need. I recommend it for short staying.

Not for light sleepers

It's an old building with little sound insulation. There's a lot of road noise. My room didn't have a phone, they have an 800 number to call the front desk instead. Not a great neighborhood (none in Hollywood are). Service could have been a little friendlier. None of that really bothered me. It's good enough if you are looking to save a few bucks.
