We LOVE this hotel!!

I almost don't want to tell anyone about this amazing place! Brilliant location, really central yet in quiet leafy, area, one stop from Universal Studios. Beautiful pool over looking Hollywood, usually just us there. Big apartment with balcony (kitchen could do with a refurb if I was picky). Get to use all the Magic Castle Hotel facilities, eg breakfast there, heated pool, free shuttle up to apartments. Unbelievably reasonably priced. But best of all were the staff, could not have been more helpful, I felt like they became our friends. My children even said they wanted to be like Mallory and Kevin when they grow up and work in this hotel! Thank you for making our stay so special.

Extremely Friendly Staff & Excellent Location

The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot in getting around the area and driving us up and down the hill. Just a few minutes' walk away from the Chinese Theater, Dolby Theater, Walk of Fame, etc. Great hotel to stay at if you want the true Hollywood experience.

Seriously awesome & affordable!

We stayed only one night. Four girls, and we loved it! The staff is amazingly nice. Nick was there at our check in and he was way cool and totally helpful. Everything we asked we got the answer we hoped to get. Half our party was going to the Bruno Mars concert and they provide a shuttle to the hollywood bowl and back free of charge! The balcony is great, very spacious and the view just amazing. The rooms were clean, beds where so comfy with down blankets and very fluffy pillows. We had the 2 bed city view suite. That's 2 beds, fully stocked kitchen (I believe all rooms have a kitchen) and a sitting room. Tv in both rooms. The bathroom had a full 2 sink counter and large mirror and a walk in closet. the bathroom is private and the shower is clean. The pool was SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL. Views all around. Even though there is a lot of plants all around the area...I was still able to get some pictures. It was a very clean area to lounge around. Hollywood Boulevard is literally a block away but remember that the hotel is in the hills. We did have to walk down the hill road but it was all in good fun. No heels! hah. Check out was easy, all i was charged was an 11$ parking fee. At check in they charge a security deposit of only 50$ and they took the 11$ out of that and refunded the rest. Breakfast was just bagels fruits and few other basics. We passed. No big deal. We would definitely stay here again. You really feel like your living it up in the hills of hollywood.

The hotel is about a block from hollywood boulevard ...but you gotta walk down the hill first! A bit exhausting walking back up. Ask about assistance if they have it.

Just like living in the Hollywood Hills

This is the second time we have stayed there and we just love it!!!! It may not be for everyone but it is perfect for us. It is just like living in the Hollywood Hills not like a hotel at all. You actually check in at the Magic Hotel and then drive (or they have a shuttle) up the hill to the apartments. The view is magnificent and the pool area is beautiful. The staff is so helpful and nice. They can't do enough for you. There were a few minor things wrong with the room and they were fixed immediately. We will definitely stay there again!!

Enjoyed

Spent too little time (one night) in the hotel to tell much. My main goal was to visit Hollywood and other famous places. The location of hotel is great for that purpose. Close to Hollywood blvd, a lot of food around (although, you should watch carefully on the balance price/quality) Fresh air (fresh as it can be in Hollywood). Staff is nice. The only concern was during check-in, we were very hungry and tired, and the hotel itself is separated from check-in place. Apart from that - i was too busy looking around than looking for something i don't like in the hotel. No complains.

Very Friendly staff & Convenient Hollywood Location

I took my daughter and her friend on a road trip to California for her 18th birthday, and I choose this hotel for its price, the good reviews and convenient location only a block away from the major Hollywood landmarks. Upon checking in at the Magic Castle Hotel, the staff was extremely friendly, and they made sure we felt at home even though we were 1,500 miles from home (Texas). We were informed that we had been upgraded to a junior suite at the Magic Castle Hotel versus the Hollywood Hills Hotel which is a quarter of a mile up Sycamore Avenue from Franklin. I was really looking forward to the view overlooking LA, but I decided that this location would be more convenient for seeing Hollywood with kids. And besides, we were able to walk up the hill to see the awesome views. My daughter and her friend really enjoyed the free drinks and snacks that you can pick from a provided list. They even had free DVDs to choose from each day. My daughter commented over and over just how friendly the staff was at the Magic Castle. (Coming from a small Texas town, she was expecting Hollywood to be ‘snobby’. I personally found the staff and all people we encountered in Hollywood to be very friendly as well.) The rooms were cleaned thoroughly each day, and we were greeted with Andes chocolates and a note card each day letting us know what the weather would be. We enjoyed our time here very much.

Good location to Hollywood Blvd.

Staff was very helpful and obliging to your every need. Room was dated and could use up-dating. Was charged $11.00/day for parking that was not in the original quote. Not a big deal but the charge was a bit of a surprise. A ride was promptly provided for going up and down the hill which can be challenging for us older folks. No elevators available to our upper room. You must walk up the stairs with your bags. Wished I could have some way been provided access to the Magic Castle. This was quite a disappointment. All things considered it can be summed up: Excellent staff, average room, very good location.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

On afternoon of Kodak's Iris production $50.00 rush tickets are available. We found out 10 seconds too late. Ticket agents will take you. I asked what tickets were available and payed a lot more ! Ticket agent said, " Since I did not specify a rush ticket they did not have to tell me about them". They seemed to be proud of the fact they took you even though we were there at the time these tickets were available. Buyer beware!

Amazing Hotel

This hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed at. After confirming my reservation through the exceptional staff, I was welcomed to the hotel with a bag of snacks and a glass of sparkling cider for both my friend and I. The hotel is kind of spread out, but the staff did not hesitate for a single moment to taxi us around in their company vehicle anytime we wanted to move from our room to the entrance. Words cannot express how impressed I was with the staff at this hotel. They accommodated all of our needs for our stay, and I will be using this hotel for all future visits to Hollywood Blvd.
