Beware, don't stay here at all costs

A good drive to the gay area, the traffic was bad all the time and it was really hard to get to the hotel without going through a lot of stop and go. My room was not ready at check in time, I did not get my room until 1 hour after check in time. The first room I was given was dark and smelled like someone died in the room. The second room was not much better, it overlooked Sunset and had a steel window covering that was very hard to see through and very noisy all the time. The room had no lamps, no clock, no soap, no ice holders, 2 plastic cups and was very dirty. It looked like someone that worked on cars was staying the room before me, black oil and grime on everthing I had a 20 inch t.v. that got only a few stations and they were blurred. The chair in the room was covered in black grease and the carpet had black stains in it. I went to sit on the bed and one side was broken down and I thought I was going to fall off. I had to sleep in the middle of the bed to keep from falling off. No blanket just a bedspread. The air only worked on high, the ceiling fan was going the wrong way, and when you did turn off the light above the bed all the electricity went off. Parking was a nightmare. Just a few small spaces that were very tight and hard to park in. It is within walking distance to many sites and the Hollywood Bowl. Spend a few more $ and get a nice hotel with lamps and clocks. I asked the Owner about the lamps and he said they were stolen? da

get what ya pay for

Great base of operations for sightseeing trip. Not for families. The furniture, fixtures and room were dingy and old, but if you only plan being in the room to sleep and you dont mind having slept in a room where a drug bust may have occured, its not so bad.

BED BUGS!!!!

this hotel has a great location, and includes parking, but its really a terrible place to stay! when it comes to hotel, im pretty easy to please, but i have to say that this was the most miserable ive ever been in a hotel/motel. a hostle may have been better? it was over priced for what i received, and worst of all, I AM STILL ITCHING AND IN PAIN FROM THE BED BUGS! there were roaches too. it was just plain terrible. the guest were also "interesting" people too! its not an unsafe place, but as a single woman traveler, i didnt feel the most comfortable.

Great price, service, location

Went to LA for the weekend and needed somewhere to sleep and shower. The location was very convenient (near lots of shops, restaurants, banks, Hollywood tourism sites) and the price extremely attractive. The hotel itself is beautiful; the room was spotless and the staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. Hollywood Guest Inn is my first choice for any future trips to this area.

I feel as if I was scammed

I booked my room thru Orbitz- The description of the room stated that check in time was 1 pm, the confirmation I received from Orbitz said check in time was 1 pm- the e mail sent to me from Orbitz confirming the booking stated that check in time was 1 pm----when I arrived at the motel at 1 pm I was told that I would have to wait until 2 pm to get my room, I was ALSO TOLD THAT MY ROOM COULD BE READY AT 1PM IF I PAID AN EXTRA $10 IN CASH. Ridiculous. The room WAS READY but they would only let me in at 1 pm if I paid an addtioal $10. When I complained the receptionist said they were within their rights to cancel my reservation and I would loose my full purchase price-- It was a dirty and sneeky scam to get an additional $10 from me. What a TERRIBLE way to do business.

A place to sleep in Hollywood

It is located very close (within walking distance) to the Hollywood Walk of Fame...which is what we were doing at night after spending all day at Magic Mountain. It is not a 4-star hotel, but for being as close to the action the price is right. The only problem we had was the ceiling fan did not work, but it was a cool night & didn't matter. If you are planning to visit Hollywood & are looking for basically a place to sleep, I would recommend this hotel.

For a Mexican restaurant that only locals know about, try Lucy's El Adobe on Melrose Avenue across from Paramount Studios.
