Excellent hotel
citygirl Dec 3, 2009
Helpful staff. Convenient location. Clean room. Beautifully decorated. Excellent restaurants. Full service, luxurious ... amenities. The only negative might be the airport noise if you are sensitive to that, but living in a city I am used to sounds. There was one airplane that did make an usually loud sound in the week I was there, but that was the only one.

Take advantage of seeing TV shows being filmed. The tickets are free, and they give various "freebies" at the shows. You see "stars", meet people from various areas, learn things, and have fun.

The housekeeping was great. Food in the hotel as usual overpriced. A little outdated decor. Liked the gym and the little ... outdoor areas on level 3 including pool (good for smokers). We choose it because of the location (near a address were I had an appointment) but unless you want a hotel near LAX, there is nothing else around!! Very convenient if you have more then 24 hours layover and you want something close by. Shuttles are always available. If you want to take a tour you might be cheaper walking right to VIP tour office, it's right down the side street by Carl's Junior.

Unbeatable stay for the price
Dawn Nov 29, 2009
We were pleasantly surprised at how fancy it was when relating to the price we paid. I thought the staff was very nice. The ... only bad thing was the parking prices (18 dollars a day). But I guess that's LA for you.

LAX Hilton
pumpkindude Nov 12, 2009
All in all well. The cost for internet access in the rooms were excessive and the business center computers were also ... overpriced to access email. If you require using a forward slash for your log ins the computers in the business center are useless because they disable the forward slash key on all their keyboards. The rooms were roomy and clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent although a little too pricey. I recommend it especially for their convenient location to the airport and for having a Hertz rent a car agent on premises.

We were on vacation for 5 days. The only complaints we had was that you have to pay 18 dollars daily to park in their garage ... and the the coffee maker in the room was full of dust where you put the water in so we passed on the coffee. We are in view of the airport runway but the jets did not bother us at all. we found the room quite comfortable and the king bed, Wow! We have not slept that good in years. overall we would definately stay there again and again.

The conciere that was there was able to tell us how we got around to everywhere we needed using public transportations ... because neither my friend or I wanted to drive. The hotel was in a perfect location to see every part of California and still make it back to our hotel without getting lost.

Didn't live up to reputation
Business mom Oct 19, 2009
1st room - not cleaned from previous guest. Given 2nd room to move to, keys did not work when tried, not enough towels, slow ... housekeeping response. We made 3 trips to the front desk (at 10 o'clock at night with very tired child in tow) before we were able to get settled for the night. Only offered appology for our trouble - nothing else. At check out, no receipt available, though they did email it later. Really expected better from Hilton's reputation.

I was in town for a funeral. Arrived late and tired, but the check-in staff was professional and efficient. I don't think ... that guests should have to pay for parking. This is a cheap approach to guest services. Maybe the hotel rents/leases the space, but then legtimate guest parking should be validated. Parking garage elevator did not work at 3:00 A.M. Not good or safe. Room was clean, well-supplied and comfortable.

Stayed only one night. The hotel has a marble lobby and looks very nice. The room I stayed in was previously a smoking room ... and it still has a bad smell. Clean painted walls but yellow stained plastic fire detectors. Nice clean bedding with lots of pillows, but an old TV. Had to turn the thermostat down to 60 to get a 75 degree temp.

This hotel is conveniently located to the airport. I love this community of hotels because it's easier to wake up and head to the airport than having to fight through traffic and potentially miss your flight. I could see planes landing all the time from my window, but I never heard any of them which was really cool!
