Great Place to Just Sleep for the Night

This hotel was NOT a fancy hotel with all the ammenities of a regular hotel. However, it was a step up from a motel. It had clean rooms (Although when we got into our "clean room" the room had NOT been cleaned. It was a hotel mix up. They were very quick to prepare the room and within 15 minutes we were good to go. Everything in the hotel is "vintage" but the place was clean and dated. Not fancy but comfortable as a place to sleep for a few days. I would stay there again. The floor was a bit squeaky at times (again because of the age of the hotel) but overall i was pleasantly surprized for the location and price. The Location was in a safe neighborhood. I never felt unsafe walking in the neighborhood. This hotel is loated in the Korean town

All I can say is wow...

Check in was lackluster. The gentleman at the front desk was confused with the process of the Orbitz reservation. He took down all of my information, then after we got to the room, we called to ask a question and he told me that I had to go back down to sign another paper though he didn't explain to me what for. Turns out it was for incidentals. We were on the second floor. The carpet was dirty, and the "amenities" were not great. The housekeeper left a stack of about 5 or 6 bars of generic soap, and two of the worst shampoos I've ever used. The closet doors fell off of their tracks on several occasions when the kids (18 mo and 3 yrs) were inside, and the walls near the bathroom had chipping plaster. Power outlets were very difficult to access for our electronic charging needs. There were large groups of kids staying while we were there. They were foreign, so I have no idea what they were really there for. Tourism or a school function? Our last night there, we had spent the day at Disney so we were all exhausted. I wasn't tired enough to not hear the people in the room above us pacing back and forth across the squeaky floorboards at midnight, talking loudly on the phone, nor to shut out the sounds of the squeaky bed when they decided to "wrestle loudly" at 3am. Thank god my kids were passed out through it all. I'd have had to do a lot of explaining. The front desk at the time seemed to be quick about asking them to settle down. By that time, I was concerned about retribution on the other people's part that I couldn't get back to sleep. Great for our 6 hour drive home the next day. Oh, and upon checkout the gentleman at the front desk told me that I couldn't have a copy of the receipt (we keep all receipts for our family budget spreadsheet) and didn't give me a reason. When I asked him why, he said, "listen honey, I am going to explain it to you once more..." Needless to say, I was beyond peeved, and my husband unwittingly got the brunt of my anger.

Rather Funky

The desk manager was very friendly. They helped me get a room due to a mistake in my reservation. However, the Marriott Courtyard, this is not. Serviceable is how I would describe it. Even a bit run down. The location is convenient for the Wilshire district, and I'm sure one of the nice hotels in the area would be twice the price. I probably would not stay there again.

Not really a good location

I was told hotel was a 3 star hotel. It was more like a 1 star motel. Rooms were out side very creepy and dark. room looked looked like they tried to cover up something.Bottom door handle was about to come off. it was a 3 story motel and we were on the 2nd floor walls very thin heard other guest all nite long. Furniture very old and out dated. this motel should not be rated a 3star hotel.

Our stay

The hotel was comfortable enough, especially for the price. Only thing would have liked to see in the room, that wasn't- would have been a coffee maker, or maybe in the lobby, but again for the price.. In the future, we might consider staying at the same location, as long as we either rent a car or learn the bus/subway routes.

Prior to your arrival, ask for the refridgerator to be placed in your room, and try to pick up supplies on way to hotel. Nearest convenience store is about 1 mile away.
