Trendy and comfortable

I really liked the decor and vibe of the hotel. I paid a little more for the elevated queen but I don't really know what made it deluxe. The room was small but sufficient. The layout was a little weird since the bed was in the middle of the room but it was still cool. The view was ok but not "panoramic" as referred to in the description. I was also suppose to have access to a lounge with my upgraded room but for some reason my key didn't work. We didn't pursue it because we didn't really have time to utilize it anyways. There was a printer and computer in there which would be handy for printing out travel docs. Since we didn't go inside I am not sure if it cost anything. Our room was at the end of the hall and we could hear a lot of noise from a party going on at the other end of the hall. Luckily it didn't last all night. The free wi-fi was a nice gesture but it was super slow...My phone's 3G was faster. We had dinner at the Deck33 which was convenient. The drinks were expensive and the food was good but pretty pricey as well. The service was bad...the waitress' tip reflected that. The restaurant overlooked the pool (which was small) and cabanans. The cabanans looked like a nice place to lounge. They had fires and heaters everywhere so a night swim might have been nice. The location of the hotel was really good. It appeared to be an up in coming area with new shops and restaurants. It took less than 10 minutes to get to the airport. It took about 20 minutes to get to Santa Monica and it was a pretty easy ride. Getting to the Hollywood area took a while due to tons of traffic. Overall, I don't know what the regular rooms look like but I probably should have just saved my money and stayed with the regular room. For the price this near the airport hotel was worth it as long as you are aware that it is not a luxury hotel.

Drive out to Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade. It was a really fun mall with lots of shops and things going on. It only took about 20 minutes.

its okay....

I stayed in the hotel for 6 days they only changed pillow sheets not the bed sheets the a/c worked HALF the time the rooms are not "sound" proof like said. But the staff was friendly an amazing the pool was always closed due to "Private events" The only good part of the hotel was it was close to the airport and 3 miles from Vencie Beach and Santa Monica

Interesting

This was quite the interesting hotel. We arrived at 11pm on a Friday night (via the free airport shuttle which was quite a plus of this hotel) and was immediately confused as to where the hotel entrance was. Part of the first floor is a club which shared the entrance of the hotel. Being a young adult this was ok but a family would have been quite taken aback. The lobby was normal with a delicious (expensive) breakfast in the morning. There are three small elevators and I would not suggest leaning against the walls in them (filthy). The "pool" was more like a large jacuzzi. The outdoor cabanas were nice along with many sun soaking chairs. The hallways are dark and remind me of a hostel (we tried three floors before finding a working ice machine leading me to classify all hallways as dark). However, once inside the hotel room itself there were no complaints. The walls are covered with curtains and the beds are barely off of the floor but besides that very normal. There is also a "light effect" on the windows in every room but there is an off button so no worries. There are large public parties held often which cuts off portions of the hotel to 21+ including the pool area. One plus is the hotel is pet friendly. I wouldn't call the location good or bad. Minimal dining locations around. There is a grocery store right outside. A very nice bowling alley in the hotel parking lot was a lot of fun! Every single staff member was excellent. Another guest I met called the hotel "Progressive" which I think fits well. Definitely only for adults from 21 to 40?

Convenient to LAX, but only with a GPS

We chose this hotel to avoid fighting LA traffic in the morning before a flight. It was good for that, however it was disappointing to have to use valet parking.

COOL BUT NOT THAT COOL

HOTEL FRONT RECEPTION STAFF IS NOT VERY HELPFUL OR INFORMATIVE. EXAMPLE: THEY DID NOT INFORM ME THERE WAS ONLY VALET PARKING OR WHERE TO GO TO FIND MY ROOM. THEY GAVE ME MY CARDS AND TURNED AWAY.

Modern and Sheek

I really liked this hotel. I would say that it is for young couples. It's really modern. The only thing I didn't like was how thin the walls were. You could hear everyone in the hallways really good and they could hear you in your room. Other than that the service was awesome, and the rooms were very clean and nice. I enjoyed my stay..

Very Friendly Staff

This was the second time I have stayed at the Custom Hotel while traveling for business in Los Angeles. The staff is super friendly. Restaurant food is very good and reasonably priced. Rooms are modern/funky and the bed is comfy. They are going thru a remodel but it does not have an impact on the guests.

Not our best experience.

We specifically stayed there because there was a pool, but it was out of service due to the construction. There was no signage to direct us to the second floor lobby. 3 of the ice machines were out of order & the hallway fire alarm too. The keyboard to the tv didn't work and nobody answered the phones when we called to get another one. We had to leave the bathroom door open or else parts of the overhang would break off. When we called for valet, no answer again and nobody downstairs to get our car. All and all, not what we expected and don't think we would stay there again. The only pleasant part of our trip was [...]at the front desk, he was extremely helpful and apologetic. It seemed like he was used to getting a lot of complaints, but still treated us as if ours mattered.

Custom changing fast

I like the custom but they are changing owners and seems like every time I am there they make dumb excuses on why things are funny....finish the deal already it is getting annoying! will be interested to see if they keep rending rooms at a good price. Bad showers! loud and no pressure. I gave it 4 Stars for the value but if they raise the price it would be a 3 star place.
