Comfort Inn City Center

I choose this hotel since I went to LA in 2009 for a concert. The room was pretty clean and nice and the free breakfast was nice to start my short three days in Los Angeles. The staff was friendly and tried to help me with my taxi and tour needs. But it is good ONLY if you stay for a weekend, I don't see myself staying a whole week there because the location doesn't give you a lot of choices unless you have a car or can afford a great tour.

We booked 2 rooms at this hotel. The hotel was a bit musty smelling which we could deal with. The problem that we had was that there was a wild party going on next door... with drugs and alcohol (which we could smell) and loud banging on the walls...that went on ALL NIGHT. We called the front desk and asked them to call the room to quiet them down and then finally we asked to be moved and they wouldn't accommodate us. We complained several times and got NO sleep at all that night and had to drive back to Salt Lake City in the morning. We talked to the management in the morning and they apologized to us but wouldn't give us a refund. [...] I would definitely NOT stay at this hotel again [...].

Good and comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Although downtown LA is not one of my favorite zones.

I thought my hotel would be close to a conference I needed to attend. it was in a very bad neighborhood with homeless people on the outside of it. not directly on the location by sleeping on the side walk. when we got inside. a potential customer was arguing with the representative and their confirmation reservation through another site. they did not get want they wanted. when we stepped up our reservation went through with no problem. but our room was clearly a smokers room. we could still smell the smoke. we are non smokers. there was a hole in the comforter on the bed from someone smoking. also our shower knob worked in the opposite direction. when I thought was was turning on the hot water it was cold and visa versa. we made it through out one night. but I would not got back to that hotel again.

The room had two full size beds but had little access to the bathroom. I had to squeeze between the bed and wall closet to get to the bathroom. The TV had very poor reception. The internet access was spotty.

The hotel was in a very ghetto neighborhood, so it was not really safe for a young female traveling alone. It was also far from downtown L.A./Hollywood so taking the taxi to and from the downtown area cost $50 a day. however if you feel comfortable walking through a pretty rough couple of blocks (I grew up on the south side of Chicago, and I was uncomfortable) then the train is a fast and convenient way to travel. The staff were prompt to answer questions and take cabs.

We arived late and were greeted by a friendly and helpfull front desk clerk. We asked for a ground level room and were given one very close to the loby. However the room smelled kinda funny but seemed clean. Attempted to take a shower in the morning and a cold/luke warm shower. Notified front desk each of our three day stay and were promised it would be resolved. Long Story short we had quick luke warm showers our entire stay. Good location and its cheap if you just beed a night or two its fine. Continental breakfast is nice. They charge for a safe in your room whether you use it or not.
