BEST WESTERN PLUS Dragon Gate Inn ★★★

Very combientient, clean and great value

Would recommend Fri, Apr 18, 2008
The Best Western Dragon Inn was very comfortable. The rooms are clean and safe. The staff are very freindly and helpful. There is a refrigerator in the room that makes convient and helpful. It is located in the heart of Chinatown surrounded by lots of shops and excellent restaurants. It is also close to dowtown LA and vicity. There is a hotel parking, but charge an $8 fee/night which the surrounding lot change between $3-$5. I will definetly come and stay at the Best Western Dragon Inn again. I just wish that I have known this hotel before.

Shopping hint

There is a Chinese Bristo one block west of the Hotel that serves excellent Chinese cusines and very reasonable prize (peking duck $10, lobster for $10 and most of the entree are $$7). Get there early for lunch before the crowd shows up.

Hotel was ok, parking was a nightmare

Would not recommend Fri, Jan 4, 2008
Located in Chinatown, close to all important business areas in Downtown LA. I had a quiet, relatively spacey room. The room was clean and the comfort ok, the chambermaid was very friendly. Parking was a nightmare. Some guy of the garage staff was extremely rude, he shouted at me upon arrival, he wanted me to park in the most difficult accessable parking spot, while 80% of the parking garage was not occupied. Then he told me when I park after 8pm I won't be able to get my car until 6am. I did not complain about this guy while I was there, because I was afraid he might damage my 'luxury' car. In 15 years of business travel, I never experienced somebody that rude.

Excellent value

Though the hotel facilities in general were so-so, the rooms are terrific for the price. Roomy, comfortable, clean.

Entertainment hint

pasenda is nearby as well as chinatown.

don't goback

Would not recommend Mon, Aug 6, 2007
The hotel was not up to standards. The elevator was broke and we had to walk up stairs with heavy bags with no help and I have a bad back. But what could I do after driving so long to get to my destination? Look for another hotel or just deal with it. The morning that we left my daughter and I went to eat breakfast and noticed a roach right out side the lobby area.

Value for your money

Would recommend Thu, May 17, 2007
The room was a little larger than your average room and included two double beds, a table with two chairs. You are right in the heart of Chinatown, so if you are on a business trip, downtown is nearby, but if you are sighseeing, most of the shops in Chinatown open after 11:00 am. There is an underground parking lot that is not operated by the hotel and it will cost you $8/day. Just one elevator that's not to fast but since it was a leisure trip, it was ok. The comp breakfast is very limited but it was a bargain for the price of the room.
