Very quiet

The Queen Mary was by far the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff went above and beyond in several areas, including having a place to store your bags after check out until your leave. I had 11 hours between the checkout time and my departing flight and they had a place to store my bags until my shuttle came for me 8 hours after checkout. It made it possible for me to see the area without having to lug around all of my stuff. I was able to have documents faxed to the hotel for me, which was very helpful. The location was only a few blocks from my convention and the free shuttle dropped me off within 2 block of it. My stay was excellent and with talking with other participants at the convention that were not staying at the host hotel, the cost of the Queen Mary was much lower.

vist to the Queen Mary

It was friendly hotel. I think that charging for parking , in a huge empty parking lot and then having to trek your luggage to the front lobby and reserving the spaces near the entrance for valet service was a bit much. But the hotel was very interesting and fun to stay in and explore

Retro cool

The Queen Mary was so charming. The room (I suggest getting the deluxe with portholes. I think we would have been claustrophobic without them) was plenty big, had a frig, and art deco touches. It was really great to be able to get the free long beach transit bus (passport bus) right outside and it took us all over the city. We did not eat there but the lounge looked interesting and had a piano player. The only thing that I would caution someone about would be the thinness of the walls. If you had a bad neighbor you would hear everything. I was really happy we didn't have that experience. I did hear all that was next to us though-talking, laughing etc. I could be a nightmare. I wouldn't suggest staying there if you get crabby with possible noise. Walking around on the ship was great. The decks are just like going back in time. I give it a thumbs up!

A unique hotel

THis is the second time we have stayed on the Queen Mary. This time we had an outside room with two port holes which is lots better than the inside room we had last time that was quite claustrophobic. The outside room was also considerably larger. You have to remember that this was a ship whose heyday was 50-75 years ago - the interior and rooms have been left original as much as possible so if you're looking for a modern glitzy type hotel this is not for you, Staff is very friendly and location on the harbor is great - just make sure you get an outside room!

A Trip Back In Time

The Queen Mary is like taking a trip back in time. As the largest Oceanliner of it's time the ship has been restored to much of the same elegance when it saled the seas. Room are quite large considering this is a ship and all have been refreshed and many of the original fixtures still remain adding to a feeling of being in times gone by. The restaurants are all excellent and the ships staff couldn't have been nicer. We'll certainly return again.

unique hotel experience

Facinating to go back in time & stay on a legendary ship. Was quite empty in capacity so had a vibe only for the experience of the ship as a hotel rather than the croud, entertainment or amentities as there wasnt any of the above, In spite of that it was still a fun & unique place Would recommend it as it was a good value too

Great for all Ages

This hotel was awesome because not only was it a hotel it was a museum as well. The Queen Mary is full of so much history and activities that there is always something to do. I spent several hours touring the ship and still have not seen it all nor did I have time to do any of the activities that were available. When time and money are available I would love to go back just to explore the ship itself. I would recommend it to anybody, there is noway you can go wrong !!!

Near The Reef Restaurant

We mainly picked this hotel because it was on Long Beach Harbor with a fantastic view, and because it was within walking distance to The Reef Restaurant, one of our favorite places to eat. The room was a little wierd, tho, with the raised entry into the bathroom, and just the plumbing, porthole, etc.
