I would never stay here again,I ordered from your site thinking I was getting a room with port holes on the outer rim of the boat, and ended up with an inside room were the furniture had broken pieces of wood and the telephone did not work we could not call for service of any kind, and if we needed anything we had to walk as far as a football field to ask the front desk,we ask them to fix it the first day they came to check it out at 1030 at night the day before we left, the light in the bathroom was out and still no one came to fix it until 1030 the night before we left,we also were charged for parking at this hotel were we were staying I would like a refund if possible

Queen Mary for a night

If you have any interest in the Queen Mary or ships of her time, it is a terrific experience to stay there. It is an old ship that has been updated very nicely, but go there to experience that and not compare it to a modern hotel. Parking charge is $15 dollars though. Get a Long Beach city view porthole cabin to enjoy the experience best.

What a treat!

This hotel is great. The rooms are elegant, just as one would expect on the old transatlantic liners of Cunard. Dinner in Sir Winston's was fantastic. Service was unsurpassed and the food was delicious and beautifully presented and prepared. Make sure to take advantage of the breakfast special in the Promanade Cafe, by purchasing it at the desk the night before. Only $8 US and well worth it, and you get a lovely view of the Long Beach City and Rainbow Lagoon.

good location

its my parent first time to come to California. Queen Mary is a good place to see the whole Long Beach Downtown. Its special experience for us. What's more, we dont need to pay the ticket to entry the boat. however, we need to pay 15 usd parking fee per day. i think it should be free.

A taste of luxury tranatlantic travel during the 30's.

Our room was amazing --original paneling, fixtures, bathroom including salt and fresh water faucets for the bath (not operable). Loads of excellent restaurants including great deals during the happy hour -- 4-7PM weekdays.

Birthday Weekend

A close "escape" from home, the Queen Mary was a great decision. We did have an issue the first night, in that we were booked into a Deluxe Twin as opposed to King and there as a Steam Punk convention at the hotel so they had no other rooms; however, we managed and the next day they were able to accommodate our request to move to a king size room. The front desk staff, the bell hop, the valets, the store clerks - all were extremely friendly and helpful. The observation bar has great drinks and friendly staff, the cafe breakfast buffet is delicious and Chelsea's Chowder House is superb. So much to do and see - We can't wait to return.

Chelsea's Chowder House is awesome. The food is great and the staff is great. Angel was a fantastic waiter and it was so nice to dine while looking out over the water. Can't wait to go back.

Cruise without leaving the pier

The Queen Mary is more than a floating hotel it is a historical experience taking you back to the days of luxury ocean liners. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Deluxe rooms are small by modern hotel standards but large for ship cabins. Furnishings were modern and the king bed and linens were very fresh and comfortable. Bath was small but very clean. The tours were great for seeing the luxury suites, salons and historic artwork and just wandering the ship was fun. After visiting the Observation bar for drinks and dining in the Chelsea Chowder House we turned in for a romantic evening and did not awake until the 7am "disembarking" messages came over the loud speakers.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Be sure to ask for a Deluxe room (outside cabin) on the starboard side facing the city. Discount tour prices ($6-10) are available for hotel guests and do not require that you buy a $32 general admission package. Note that self-parking is $15 for overnight guests which you can pay on your hotel bill and use your hotel key for in/out parking privileges.

Great Weekend

Arrived very late and my requested room on the Long Beach side was gone but I was given a very comfortable room on A deck. Loved the whole vibe of the hotel and the ability to roam around without the public traffic was wonderful. Did the ghost tour and it was good fun. The Observation lounge is not to be missed. THe staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Had a great weekend get away to this wonderful icon of days long gone.
