Nice place, friendly staff

I stayed by myself, for a week, visiting a sick friend in LB. The location was central to my needs: not far from the airport, and not far from my friend's house. My room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff (including the restaurant wait staff) were friendly and helpful. When I return to LB, I will definitely stay there again.

Get Updated room

First room we had the a/c went out with a sparking outlet and window was rotted and old and would not shut to keep street traffic noise out. We complained and they gave us a new remodeled room which was nice clean and quite.

Good overall

Overall, the hotel was average. It is on a busy street that had alot of activity - even at 2 am. It smelled like an old hotel that has tried very hard to get rid of the smell of stale smoke but just couldn't quite get there. The elevator had cracked flooring and there were various carpet stains throughout the hallways. But, the service of the staff made up for it. The servers and bartenders in the hotel's lounge were attentive, friendly and made eating in the lounge very enjoyable. It was very busy when I was there, but I felt like I was the only one in the place! If you like flashy, new, uber-clean and quiet hotels with a big pool, this place ain't it. But if an oldie-but-a-goodie will suffice with a friendly staff and reasonable price, this might be a good place to stay.

Good for the $$

Not the greatest part of Long Beach, but it was not horrible. Clean Hotel and friendly staff... the business center is in the lobby and there is only one computer, so you have to wait your turn to print your boarding pass if you are needing this. Otherwise, they gave 7$ off breakfast in the restaurant.. Nice of them!

Reasonable hotel

Reasonable hotel in a quiet location in town. Typical multi floor hotel noise. Many people moving about and slamming doors. Otherwise it is fine.Beyond walking distance to harbor side, but, walking about Long Beach doesn't get you much.

Could have been better

From my previous trip this would have rated a 5, but when I called to confirm my reservation I was not told about a $50.00 holding fee that would be applied to my credit card. If I was told about the charge I would not have given them a 4 star it would have been a 5 star.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Do not believe what the say on the holiday inn site nor on the desciption. This hotel is not near or on ocean blvd. We had to walk about 11 blocks just to get to the hotel.
